Got Canine Training

I cannot recommend Leo and Got Canine Training enough! He is a highly compassionate, insightful and strategic trainer. The word tainer does not even seem like a suitable term for what he was able to accomplish with our dogs! The approach he takes to transforming dogs that are seemingly stuck in a habitual stress response, due to traumas, triggers, and/or anxieties they are navigating is simply inspiring and clearly a calling of his. We have two rescue dogs that we adopted four years ago, and were around age 6 when Leo worked with them. We did some initial training with our dogs when we first adopted them, which helped them adapt to life with us, but still had behavioral challenges that persisted, such as reactivity in the form of barking, aggression to pedestrians and other dogs. It made walking our dogs with our toddler not enjoyable, but more a stressor for scanning for potential scenarios we needed to navigate with them. Leo worked with them for a period of four weeks. He was able to assess the level of assertiveness we needed to apply with both dogs, based on their position in the pack (back of the pack and middle of the pack). With this knowledge, we’re able to modify our feedback to our dogs appropriately so they feel confident and comfortable in our leadership based on their dispositions. One of our dogs in particular was very reactive based on her history prior to adoption, which translated to a type of hypervigilant energy. After working with Leo it felt like a weight had been lifted off of her shoulders and she is now at peace and content with herself. She listens to us, is overall calmer, and can now walk in busy neighborhoods past other dogs without any reaction. This was the dream state for us to be able to peacefully and joyfully walk with both of our dogs and children, and with Leo’s help it is now our reality. 🙂 I am so grateful for Leo and how positively he has impacted our family life with our dogs. Our dogs were definitely a challenging pair, where some trainers would have declined them due to their age. Leo was definitely up for the challenge and it’s clear he is a truly dedicated, skilled, and wonderful partner to ultimately transform your dog's lives, so everyone can live more harmoniously together.

It was really hard to find someone that I could trust leaving my 2 babies with. The day I met Leo he made us feel comfortable and knew at that moment our babies were going to be in great hands. He was very professional. I have 2 stubborn frenchies. They both kept fighting during meal times and bed time. Leo took both in for a 3 week training course and it was the best decision I could have made. I can feed them about 5feet apart with no fighting, and if there is a fight we are able to control them. No fights during bedtime. I am able to walk both on a leash with no pulling. My dogs were in good care. Definitely recommend!

Finding Leo at Got K9 Training was a game-changer for us and our standard poodle, Onyx. After struggling with previous trainers, Onyx underwent a remarkable two-week transformation during his board and train at Got K9 Training. He lost weight and became noticeably more energetic. Leo taught Onyx to heel alongside a bicycle. He also taught him to listen to commands while playing at the park. By teaching Onyx to focus on his commands, Leo was able to increase Onyx’s exercise. This significantly improved Onyx's quality of life! Beyond the training, Leo's care for Onyx was awesome. When we picked Onyx up, we could see that he was happy and truly fond of Leo! Onyx has Addison's disease. Leo managed Onyx's diet and medication as if he were his own dog. We now feel comfortable leaving Onyx with Leo for training or boarding. This is something we are truly grateful for! We highly recommend Leo for his exceptional results and genuine commitment to Onyx's well-being.

Our frenchie is a rescue dog that likely came from a puppy mill. She was extremely reactive and resource guarded. Leo had Sugar for 4 weeks and complete changed her whole demeanor. She is far more socialized, less reactive, follows commands, and her resources guarding is far better than it was. We could tell within the first 48 hours that working and caring for our dog was a passion for Leo. There was a small health issue that we were unaware of since our dog has only been with us for 3 months and Leo handed it gracefully during her stay. We got regular updates and were very pleased with the whole training experience. If we ever get another dog in need of training, we will be using Got Canine Training again.
