Good Dog Training

I can't come up with enough positive words to describe Carrie and Good Dog Training Stl. We recently adopted a 7 month old puppy, in and of itself a challenge, but a Boxer to boot. Her energy and lack of training up to that point had us at the end of our tether. In just a few sessions, she went from 100% crazy to walking expertly on a leash, containing herself around other pups, placing, staying, and generally exhibiting appropriate behavior. Carrie is patient, honest, easy going and excellent with our pup. Would highly (highly) recommend.

Carrie was highly professional, kind, and passionate when training our two dogs, Seymour and Scout. Scout is a reactive dog, and was able to gain so much confidence from being able to trust another human outside of our family. Her progress with loose leash walking and developing the place command helped us feel more confident as owners and taught us how to help her in day to day situations. Our other dog, Seymour, is highly energetic and we learned that the two dogs were feeding off of each other’s energy. Having them both go through similar training at the same time helped improve Scout’s progress in a real life situation, and Seymour also learned how to be more obedient! We did a mix of private lessons and home schooling and would highly recommend Carrie to anyone considering training needs for their dogs! She is great and we (and the dogs) miss interacting with her! We have a one year old German Shorthaired Pointer, which is a naturally high energy breed. Our puppy was very good natured, but needed a lot of help with general obedience in excitable situations as well as needed A LOT of help on a leash. We did the two week at home training with Carrie and the progress was immediately noticeable. Not only did his general obedience improve (he has a better understanding of what NO means than ever), Carrie’s marker training method has been way more effective than any shock collar or yelling at our dog ever was. Carrie not only helped us with the situations that we specifically asked to help, but taught us how to be effective trainers on our own. Best of all, we can now walk our dog on a leash without being dragged by him! We can’t thank Carrie enough and will definitely have her come out again in the future for ongoing training!
