Good Dog Paws

I was desperate to find a solution to get my dog NOAH, to walk without raring his head in the air, Fiercely pulling on the leash and absolutely refusing to move. I scheduled an appointment with GOOD DOG and Kami came to my house. Instantly, she assessed NOAH’S issues, presented the tool needed and demonstrated the proper method necessary for success. Within two days NOAH was walking like a show dog. He’s excited about going for his walk and is visibly happy and relaxed. THANK YOU! Good Dog and Kami. We adopted a rescue that had absolutely no training and had some serious “confidence issues”. Sweet little guy, but is fearful of people and other dogs, which manifests as barking, growling and sometimes aggression. Kami has done in home training with us. She was a wealth of information! She explained why he was behaving the way he was as well as pointing out body language that would help us to identify the behaviors. She has shared with us the info needed to work with him to effect change and improve his confidence. He now walks well on a leash and can handle walking the park trails with people and other dogs. He still has a long way to go, but she has provided us with the information to effect change and work with him to one day become a relaxed and confident pup! Update October 2023: A lot has happened since posting the initial review (below). Blu completed Good Dog's AKC Good Citizen certification, additional training courses, and is a regular Day and Train attendee. He also is going through the AKC GC class a second time as much for himself as for his dad to learn and grow together. We look forward to continuing our journey with Good Dog where Blu is loved and challenged by all who have helped him on his way. ----- Kami has been outstanding in helping us meet our goals with our dog during private training lessons at Good Dog Paws. When we first adopted our dog, he was extremely anxious in all new environments and situations, making it difficult to take him places with us. He is our first dog, and we lacked knowledge and experience for training him. During the first session Kami reviewed our goals thoroughly with us and spent time gaining our dog’s trust. Each subsequent lesson has had a primary focus with one of our goals. Kami has spent time explaining the theory for each training goal, demonstrated what we should do with one of her dogs, demonstrated with our dog, and walked us step by step through practice at home with our dog. It has been a fabulous experience that has allowed us to bond more with our new dog, as well as build his trust and confidence to help with his anxiety. We now feel assured that we can take him into public and new situations, give him a job, and have a positive experience instead of worrying about what he will do or how he will react to people. Thank you for helping us build our knowledge of our dog’s behavior and how to increase both his and our confidence in new situations. We are looking forward to the level 2 group class that will start soon!
