Golden Heart Canine

We feel extremely fortunate to have been referred to Golden Heart Canine (GHC) to work with our dogs on behavioral training. Our decision to board and train our 10 and three year-old pups for 30 days was a choice we took quite seriously. Meeting Becca, vistiting the facilities, and learning about her background and training techniques, led us to trust and commit 100% to the program. Our pups were introduced and taught commands to leave it, wait, heel, down, release/free, bed, and recall. WE also learned a ton and that it's okay for us to spoil them, but they need strict follow through with their obedience. The difference in their behavior is quite impressive and exciting. Now it's up to us, as the lead pack members, to practice every day and continue to instill all the lessons and hard work that occured during the 30 days (and those extra six that we decided were best for Hawk to earn his graduation)! With all that said, and most importantly, thank you Becca, and ALL the staff at GHC, from the bottom of our hearts, for bringing Roscoe and Hawk's two totally different personalities, and not-so-great habits, to a more enriched brotherly relationship. :) GHC provided them a loving, safe, and happy place to live and learn and it showed. Your leadership, knowledge, expertise, patience, and commitment to this career in dog training is a gift to many. We have no doubt that GHC is, and will continue to be, a prominent dog training facility in Southwest Colorado. We look forward to our two follow-up training sessions during the next few months. Becca came recommended to me for training by Alliance of Therapy Dogs. In turn we have been pleased to recommend her to others without reservations. With Becca’s dedication, knowledge, experience, kindness, and patience we have come a long way! I can now take walks and sit nicely in public places with my rescued hound mix who not long ago thought he and his nose were taking ME on their excursions. We have just passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, and are now ready to get our Therapy Dog Certification in order to begin work with HopeWest, a non-profit Hospice organization. We have also been very pleased with our boarding experiences at Golden Heart Canine. The facility is kept very clean and the dogs get daily periods of supervised outdoor exercise during their stay. All in all I am grateful for and can sing the highest praises for this fine organization. If/when we get a puppy this winter, Becca will absolutely be our “go-to”.

Becca is absolutely amazing, her patience. knowledge and love of dogs is clearly evident and the training techniques she taught are highly effective. Could not have been more happy with the results we saw with our then four month old labrador Aurelia and the progress we continue to see by sticking with the methods she taught us months later. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your furbaby this is definitely the place.
