Golden Heart Canine

We dropped our 2yr old Bernedoodle off at Golden Heart for the 4 week training program. She had zero recall and was overly excited when meeting people or other dogs. We wanted to be able to take her for off-leash runs on the golf course or hiking trails without worrying about her safety. She’s been home for just over a week and we are so incredibly impressed with her behavior. Her sit/stays are impressive , her place command (on her cot) has been challenged with all kinds of new distractions, yet she needed no correction for as long as an hour and a half (really nice for dinner parties), and her open space, off leash recall has been amazing. We are so happy with the results and she seems so proud of her ability to settle and participate in the events we host. A huge thank you to Golden Heart for giving us such an incredible foundation to build on. We are so happy with her progress!

Prior to a 2 week board and train, our Australian Shepherd puppy, Cooper, was a veritable terror, especially with our 5 year old granddaughter, whom he wanted to herd, bully and nip and bite at. We really were desperate to find a way to alter his behavior regarding our granddaughter as well as several other bad habits he was developing. It was so bad we seriously considered returning him to the breeder. Then we heard about Becca. When we first contacted her with Cooper's problems she arranged a date and time to speak with us at length about Cooper. We agreed to try the 2 week program. Since Cooper graduated from the program his behavior has changed almost 100%. He has learned boundaries and manners. He and our granddaughter are best friends, warming our hearts. He has turned into a wonderful pet without losing a bit of his spirit. Becca is truly a "dog whisperer." She and the wonderful staff that work with her are an incredible asset to our community. We adopted Maggie when she was three. We are her fourth home. Maggie had issues fear and anxiety . She often lunged and barked when in uncomfortable situations. We worked w/ a behavior specialist for almost six months. We only saw slight changes. We had heard such positive things about Becca and Golden Heart. We met together with Becca, she formulated plans for a four week training program geared towards Maggie’s needs. It was hard leaving her, yet another time. Becca kept us posted. She had frequent videos and posts showing Maggie’s progress. Maggie graduated! She is confident, she has great skills and we can see a huge change in her behavior. She is so happy!! We know it’s important to keep working with Maggie, she now has a wonderful foundation! We are excited for Maggie and grateful for Becca and her knowledge!! Thank you Becca!

My 2 dogs have very different personalities (1 is a black mouth cur & 1 is a pit bull/heeler mix)& so had very different needs to be addressed. Becca did a fantastic job for setting the foundation for each of them & me. It was very hard for me to be the leader when I myself was not really sure what that meant. Becca spent valuable time with me after the dogs had been trained to make sure the lessons carried over. Thank you so much! They both are doing fantastic with their e-collars, esp when walking at our local park. They need very few reminders to heel. So now where is the guy who always asked me "who's walking who"?

It’s been a year since Alaska came home from training at Golden Heart. It allowed a clear channel of communication for her and I to build a healthy and happy relationship where we understand one another. She is at a point where we can now walk without a leash, her recall is great. She can shake, speak, and much more. She no longer fights and even avoids them. Her resource defensiveness has settled immensely. We took our first long road trip this last weekend and did awesome in the car. Here are some photos and thank you for helping us.
