Garrett Stevens' Alpha and Omega Dog Training

We enrolled in Alpha and Omega dog training when our puppy Zuki was about 3.5 months old...she's a German Shepherd/Akita mix, so her energy levels and willfulness was a lot to handle. Their Pup Perfect program is fantastic; we spent 7 sessions over 7 months working with Garrett and David on training her to be a calm, collected, confident dog. That is exactly what we have now. At 10 months, she's not perfect, but she's pretty close, and we've gotten numerous compliments from vets and others on how well-behaved she is. I am able to manage her energy level and she listens to me because she wants to, not because I'm carrying treats. I cannot recommend Alpha and Omega Dog Training or Garrett's books enough.

Garrett has a great perspective on training dog owners, including me. He translates dog behavior into terms that I can understand. His focus on energy and recognizing how it shows up in behavior makes it much easier for me to remember what to do in a given situation. His techniques for responding to my dogs' energy are very effective. If I have a problem with either of my standard poodles it is that I have not recognized their energy level or have not applied the techniques to respond to it. My older poodle has done much better since Garett has taught me these principles; that is why I have taken my puppy poodle to him. I have recommended him to many friends and they have done well also. Having calm dogs and having them return to calm after play is terrific.

Garrett has an incredible training program and philosophy on how to understand and communicate with your dogs. My puggle Apollo and I went through several different training programs before we found Garrett and none of them could help me understand Apollo's aggression and anxiety. With Garrett and David's guidance, they were able to help me understand Apollo and train us both on how to better communicate and work together. Their training was very easy to understand, had lots of hands on training -- specifically for the areas Apollo was stressed about and had trouble with, and was super effective. It has meant so much to me and my family that we are able to really understand Apollo and communicate with him. We've seen a huge difference in him and he is so much happier than he was. We are much more confident and comfortable taking Apollo everywhere with without stressing about how he might react and most importantly is that Apollo shares that confidence. I would highly recommend Garrett and David for any training, they were great instructors and I'm so thankful for being able to help Apollo and I out.
