Garrett Stevens' Alpha and Omega Dog Training

So my vet recommended this place to me, and I have been trying to get in contact with this person for literally a month now. Called everyday, left voice messages and I JUST GPS the place and brought my 7 month old GSD so I could talk to someone and hopefully get information about training my puppy. I wasted so much time waiting for a response and when I went to the location I spent 20 minutes walking around looking for a building or something. I didn’t find anything. I have wasted an entire month of training that I could have received from someone else for my puppy. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I received no call back and am extremely upset that I wasted my time waiting for someone who is IMPOSSIBLE to get into contact with. I’ll be going to another dog trainer now.

I called Garrett when we brought our 9 week Labradoodle, Henry, home. We had labs in the past and quite frankly, they didn't respond well to me so I decided to get some help. Garrett is amazing. He doesn't just train a dog he works to understand the dog's canine behavior and body language and then helps the owner respond correctly and positively to the dog's actions. And it works!! Garrett was kind and gentle with Henry but always firm. His corrections were always positive and he never once raised his voice. He gave me a wealth of information without making me feel like the worst dog owner in the world. Garrett is professional, always on time, positive, kind, knowledgeable, relaxed, soft spoken and very funny. Dog training is fun with Garrett. Garrett taught Henry and me the basics but also made sure to emphasize having fun with my dog. Those five lessons were invaluable and I can't thank him enough. I recommend Alpha and Omega Dog Training to anyone who has a dog and who wants a great relationship that dog.

I was actually referred to Garret from another local trainer who claimed to work with dogs with behavioral issues, disobedience, and having dealt with aggressive dogs. This other training was very confident about her ability to work with dogs with behavioral issues until she found out how large my dog is (95lbs). After she found out my dog was a large breed, she told me that her schedule looked booked for the next few weeks and gave me Garrett's phone number and email. I assumed she knew Garret personally and they worked together but that wasn't the case. Garret has never met or had ever spoken to the trainer who referred me to him. (So it sounds like she just didn't want to work with my large breed dog or wasn't comfortable work with a large breed dog). My dog is a1.5 year old, male, lab mix, and a high energy recking ball. My issue was primarily having him being calm a gentle with a baby in the house. At first, I had to keep my daughter and dog completely separate and we stopped going on walks because he would jump on us, showed too much interest in my daughter, and I couldn't walk him and push a stroller at the same time. We're still working on the gentle part but my dog is in the house with my daughter a lot more, we can go on walks together, and he's leaving my daughter's toys alone (which I didn't realize was an issue because I got into a habit of hiding everything if the dog was inside!) My dog a completely different dog and I have the tools to continue working towards a brighter future. Also, most people first meeting my high energy, jumping, and mouthy dog are pretty nervous about approaching him. Garret showed confidence and was very comfortable interacting with my dog. His ability to read a dogs body language is fantastic!

I have nothing but great things to say about Garrett and his services, he was great to work with. I have two very excited Boxers and they both responded well to him. After only a few sessions with him my dogs now respond much better when we have visitors come to the house and I can take them to the dog park with confidence that they will behave well with other dogs. I have tried other local dog training options, but was largely unsuccessful. I am very happy we met Garrett and would recommend his services to anyone in need of dog training.
