Freedom K9 Academy

We had (and are still having) an amazing experience with Freedom K-9 Academy! Neither my husband nor I have ever had a pet before and decided on a whim to get an eight week old puppy. We had NO idea what we were doing and were very overwhelmed the first two months with this adorable and sweet, but very active little Bichon Frise we call Duffy. Our Vet told us about Alyssa at Freedom Academy and her rave reviews. We are truly ecstatic with the love, patience, gentleness and outstanding quality of training that Alyssa, Aryanna, Marissa and Andrea have given Duffy and us during the training sessions. I think of them as the dog whisperers. They explained everything very clearly and with so much patience as we confidently learned how to get him to sit, down, heel, stay, come, etc. I don't want to forget to mention how fun they made it for Duffy and us! We looked forward to going to all the sessions and are now sending him once a week to "Day Train". It's awesome! He's there for six hours each day, is freshened up on everything he learned and is able to socialize with the other dogs. Duffy absolutely LOVES Alyssa, Aryanna, Marissa and Andrea and we do too!!! We feel so blessed to have found Freedom K-9 Academy for this little guy that we love so much!

Alyssa started working with our Annie 4 years ago. Annie would not go in the car without lifting her 60 pounds into our car. Alyssa worked with Annie, gaining her trust and got her to go in with no problems. Alyssa is kind, persistent, professional and a genuinely nice person. She insists a dog obey but in a non-harsh way. We have continued to attend her monthly group training sessions and are extremely pleased with the her training. We highly recommend Alyssa for your dog training needs.

Before training, our pit bull mix would only listen if treats were involved. If the treats ran out, so did the obedience. He was also very reactive to other dogs and couldn’t stay still, which left us completely exhausted by the end of each day. When we first met Alyssa at our meet-and-greet, we were beyond tired and honestly just hopeful that her methods might work. As we progressed through the training sessions, Alyssa and Aryanna provided us with the tools we needed, working closely with my husband and me to teach us how to train our dog without relying on treats. He is now far less reactive, can stay in place for extended periods, and we’re able to communicate with him effectively. We’ve seen real progress, and for the first time, we feel confident and supported as dog owners. I truly can’t thank Alyssa and Aryanna enough for all the hard work they do and the care they put into helping both dogs and their people.
