Four Legged Scholars LLC

We learned about Four Legged Scholars from our vets clinic in Streetsboro, Dr. Kartley. We recently decided to take in another puppy, Jack. He was pretty well behaved aside from the usual issues one would expect from a puppy but he was skittish when he saw new people. We decided to contact Four Legged Scholars because wanted to be proactive. Then Covid came along and meeting in person didn’t seem sensible but we were able to meet via web conference. It worked out really well. I’m not tech savvy but I figured it out. His biggest issue was anxiousness towards others. Through videos we were able to show what was going on and Johanna walked us through how to handle it. We practiced counter conditioning, reinforcing positive responses to his reactions to far off distractions. He really responded and we have the videos and commentary to rely on if we need them in the future. I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a trainer that truly understands your dogs and can translate their behavior in a way that makes sense.

We have a young very active female mixed breed. She was a one dog wrecking crew. We were quite at our wits end when we contacted Johanna. In just two sessions, she was able to show us how to control Jade. She showed and told us what we had to do to continue the training. We now have a pup that is a pleasure to have. She is still active, but is no longer the wrecking crew. We owe Johanna a debt of gratitude for her knowledge and skills. Thank you Johanna.

We were very pleased with our experience with Johanna. This is not your basic obedience training (though I'm sure she can do that, as well!). She really knows the psychology behind behavior issues in dogs as well as the problems it can cause within a household. Her approach is very comprehensive, positive, and she is a kind and caring individual. I now feel that I have the tools I need to manage my dog's issues and help her and my family feel safe and secure.
