Fortified K9

Mikayla was our first board and train experience, and we couldn’t be happier with the progress she made with our pup over that time. The most impressive part of the training is the progress we’ve been able to continue making since the bring home session a few weeks ago. We were struggling with a training plateau before the board and train but have found our pup to be much more responsive to continued work at home since then. Bonus that Mikayla is super nice and not intimidating AND our pup clearly loved both Mikayla and Steve…as she always trotted off with them at the end of our weekend visits and was all wags when we saw them on a folllw-up session. We look forward to continued success at home and would definitely use them again in the future.

Mikayla is hands down the BEST dog trainer. She is professional, calm and incredibly skilled. We saw such a huge difference in our dog in such a short amount of time. She’s patient, knowledgeable, and truly understands dogs and how they think. She took the time to explain everything so we felt confident continuing the training at home. You can tell she genuinely cares, and that makes all the difference. We are so grateful for her!

We don’t trust our dogs with many people, but fortified is always at the top of our list! They watched our dogs for 10 days while we were getting married / away on our honeymoon and I didn’t have one worry about if they were being cared for properly! Mikayla always makes sure the dogs get proper exercise and care while they’re there. We’ve also done a few lessons with Steve & he is a wealth of knowledge. Can’t recommend them enough.

I can’t express enough how incredible Mikayla has been in training my Belgian Malinois. When we brought him home at two years old, he had some serious behavioral issues. He was incredibly protective of me, growling, and threatening anyone who came too close. No one in the family was comfortable having him around even though everyone wanted to love him, but he did not make a good family dog. He also had so much anxiety during car rides that taking him anywhere was a nightmare because of his panting, whining and barking. But everything changed with Mikayla‘s training. Now he’s a fantastic family companion, and he follows all his obedience commands perfectly from everyone in the family. He no longer guards me like a fortress either. I take him everywhere, and he rides quietly in the car! He goes into every store with me that allows dogs and walks perfectly by my side. He sits beside me as soon as I stop. He’s truly a delight to own. If you’re dealing with similar issues or just want a super obedient dog I wholeheartedly recommend Mikayla at Fortified K9. Highly recommend!
