I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jim Devinny and his incredible team. My dog Mattie, a four-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, came from a background of neglect and uncertainty. When I first brought her home, she was timid, anxious, and unsure of the world around her. Thanks to Jim’s patience, expertise, and compassionate approach to training, Mattie has transformed over the past few years into a confident, joyful, and well-balanced dog. Jim didn’t just train Mattie—he helped her heal, grow, and blossom into the beautiful soul she is today. Today, Mattie enjoys life to the fullest. I owe so much of her transformation to the guidance and dedication of Jim and his team. We started with For Paws dog training almost a year ago after trying out a few other dog trainers in the area. With two German Shepherd puppies at the time, we especially struggled with impulse control, reactivity, confidence, and obedience, and For Paws in Erlanger, Kentucky, has been able to help us with it all! The transformation for all three of our dogs has been incredible. Through consistent positive reinforcement and the thoughtful progression of each session, both of our dogs have made amazing strides. They’re more focused, calmer, and clearly enjoy learning! Every trainer we have had at For Paws dog training is kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to explain the “why” behind every technique, and they teach you how to train your dog. Each week, they build on the previous lessons in a way that’s easy to follow and makes training feel achievable and fun. We’re so grateful to the For Paws team for helping our pups grow and for giving us the tools and confidence to keep training successfully. About 6 years ago Jessie joined our family and transformed from a cute little fluffy puppy to a Tasmanian devil. A friend recommended For Paws K9 Training and with their help she developed into a wonderful family member. She loves to swim and kayak. We also competed in dog sports (Fast Cat, Rally, Obedience) and even earned a few titles. Jim also helped us become a therapy team. We visit seniors and stress reduction events several times a month. We would have never been successful at these events without the foundational classes that Jim and For Paws offer. I am so thrilled with her outcome that when we welcomed a new puppy, we immediately signed him up. The "level" classes are very effective and personalized one on one classes are available for those that need some extra help. I highly recommend For Paws to anyone who wants to develop a wonderful companion relationship.

Jim, I wanted to be sure to let you know Sadie and I passed our dog/handler therapy test on Sunday. About halfway through they asked how I was feeling and I said I’m feeling a little confident and explained why. Last week I had reached out to the For Paws where Sadie and I went for training a year or more ago and asked if we could have a little refresh bc we were going to take a dog therapy test on Sunday. Jim graciously allowed us to join in his level 3/4 class. It was a great boost for both Sadie and I. They said she was a very well trained dog and that we have a great relationship.
