Foothills Canine Academy

I took my super energetic 1 year-old mutt to Brenda's beginner class and she made us feel so welcome. I was worried my dog wouldn't make the cut because he is a bit noisy and unpredictable with other dogs, but Brenda had the patience and tools required to settle all the pups enough to actually learn in class. My dog and I grew so much, his behavior is much better overall now and I'm excited to take more classes here. Brenda shared so many tricks and tips that will stick with me. I'm very grateful! I originally chose this trainer because I was seeking someone who used positive reinforcement, seems like they are a lot of trainers that use shock collars and ridiculous aggression/dominance and I didn't want that. Brenda uses a balanced approach and it felt like the perfect combination of positive reinforcement and other training tactics, without anything cruel. Before coming to class I knew some basics of dog training, but after the beginner course I had the right tools to continue teaching my dog and a very clear system of communication for when something is done right or has room for improvement.

Foothills canine Academy was a life changer for my Pup Chavó and I. Brenda is an amazing instructor and you can tell she loves to share her knowledge and love for dogs. Chavó is a much better behaved dog and we continue to practice the skills we learned. This will not only be a learning experience for your pup but for yourself! I recommend anyone to take Brenda’s courses If you have a new puppy or just adopted a new fur friend.

I had an excellent experience with Brenda and her team. This is my first time owning a dog so it was super nice to get some guidance with training. Brenda is very knowledgeable and was able to give me some personalized advice about some problem behaviors I was having with my dog at home as well.
