Follow The Leader K9

I brought in my 2 year old pit mix for a one hour consult with Eric. She had been showing leash aggression and pulling which was becoming very stressful on walks. Eric helped me determine the correct collar for my dog to succeed, and showed me how to practice walking and interacting with other dogs. Since I have been implementing these techniques he demonstrated and her behavior has totally transformed! Most importantly, he helped me understand my dog, which helps me become a better leader for her. Eric knows dogs so well and I highly recommend him -- I cannot tell you how valuable one consultation session with him was!

Eric at Follow the Leader is top notch trainer. In just a few training sessions, a matter of two months my bluenose pitty Paka has completely transformed. On leash and also off leash he listens to every command and I am finally able to socialize him with other dogs. Before meeting Eric, I could never imagine doing that with my pooch. With Eric’s help at Follow the Leader I have a new doggie who is a much happier pet with a stoked owner!!!

Our rescue mix was horrible on leash, continuously ran away and was a crazy barker. After 6 private sessions with Eric (and a lot of “homework”) our dog goes everywhere with us. She walks next to me without pulling, and has great recall even around lots of distractions. Eric’s method was so much more than training. I now have an intuitive connection with my dog. she looks at me for direction when she isn’t sure what she is supposed to do. She is so happy to be able to go everywhere and it’s a piece of cake to bring her along.

Eric is an amazing trainer and is super passionate about educating owners on how to grow a strong and respectful relationship with their dog. Our pup came from the shelter with some bad habits including leash reactivity, trouble with recall and poor social skills. After 6 sessions with Follow The Leader K9 and practicing on our own time our dog is confident, relaxed and happier than ever. She has even made strides to be able to be fully off leash with remote collar and loves to play respectfully with other dogs. I would recommend Eric to anyone with a dog whether it’s a new puppy or the most troubled rescue. He’s the best!

Eric does amazing work with "troubled" dogs. We rescued a cattle dog a couple of years ago. They never told us before getting her that she had a bite history and was aggressive towards humans. We were obviously over our heads. Eric came over to our place almost immediately after rescuing her and right away noticed things that needed to change in how we handled her. He suggested a variety of humane methods and provided additional valuable training materials so we could succeed. He walked us through how to implement these tools in a way that would benefit her and improve our relationship with her. Over the last couple of years, he has continued to give us advice and direction, especially when we have a rough patch. We now have a fantastic dog and a fantastic relationship with her. When we rescued her, we were told she would could never be trusted off leash. Now, after Eric's help, she walks as good on leash as she does off. We recently rescued another dog. Completely different story. She's an absolute sweetie. However, we weren't prepared for the challenges that introducing a new dog to our pack would create. Again, Eric helped us see what we could do to make the adjustment easier for both dogs, always keeping in mind the best for each dog.
