Five Lakes Dog Training

When we adopted our new puppy Aurora, she came from a very bad environment. Auroras behaviors were terrible: biting, scared of everything, not listening to commands, aggressive towards other people. We were at our wits end and sooo frustrated. We had already tried weekly training and we weren’t getting far with it. I did my research with A LOT of different trainers and found Sammi. She answered ALL of my questions in great depth. I was super scared to let my baby go to training but Sammi made all of that so much easier. Training is around 2 weeks but Aurora stayed for 3, Sammi makes sure they are truly ready before she releases them back to their parents. When she came home she had improved on so many things!! She listened to commands and discipline, no longer bit us, came when called, her stranger danger had improved drastically. It took work though, Aurora is still learning. Sammi will take the time with you even after the initial training period to make sure you know how to handle your dog. I was completely uninformed against Stim and prong collars before, but Sammi educated me on them and now I have a totally different view. I even tried them on myself, when used correctly they do not hurt the animal. Aurora still has some stranger danger and uses her prong collar in public. When we are walking it is just like a regular collar but if she jumps at someone it gives her a pinch to tell her no. I would much rather it pinch her than have her hurt someone and then I would have to put her down. You never know how a stranger will react. I have learned so much from Sammi and still text her constantly and she encourages it. She truly cares about the dogs and their well being. We got a new puppy for Aurora to have a friend and Sammi guided us through the whole process. We go to Sammi for everything with our dogs and she cares for them like they are her own. I recommend her 1000 percent.

We are so thankful for Sami. After having a well-behaved lab who needed very little training over her lifetime to an energetic, anxious Golden Retriver puppy was a big adjustment for us. While we had Sami’s contact information for months, we finally called her when our golden was about 9 months old. She was becoming a full blown teenager, but how with 50+ lb. strength and even more stubbornness. We found that while training would have been better suited for her pre-16 weeks, we were able to see a full transformation of our Skylar over her boarding/training period at almost one. She was very well cared for & given time to adjust as the nervous dog she has been before finally getting into full training mode. The BEST part is seeing that her personality remained the exact same as when Sami took her under her wings to when she returned. Sami’s family is involved so being around many adults, kids, and dogs is great. The most important takeaway for us is seeing Skylar so much more adjusted in daily life. She just seems happier by understanding us and vice-versa. The investment is absolutely worth it to us to see her have a content life with us - less fears - more love and adventures together ❤️

Sami is a miracle worker. She completely changed my life—and my German Shepherd’s life. My dog is a rescue and came with a very long list of issues. He couldn’t meet new people, go on walks, or even be in his own backyard without becoming extremely reactive to everything around him. Another trainer actually told me there was no hope for my dog because he had too many problems. His world was incredibly limited, and I constantly felt like I was failing him. He can now go to public places and stay in a perfect heel by my side the entire time. He goes on walks without reacting to anything, and he is so much calmer inside the house instead of constantly being on edge or looking for trouble. He is genuinely a changed dog. I would recommend Sami to anyone without hesitation! it is worth every single penny. She spent so much time with me after dropping my dog off, patiently explaining the training methods she used and making sure I fully understood how to continue the work at home. I felt completely equipped and confident to support my dog’s success. I will be forever grateful to Sami for giving my dog and me a better life and allowing us to develop an even deeper relationship with each other ♥️ Thank you, Sami—because of you, my boy now knows what it feels like to truly be a dog who feels free and can fully enjoy life.
