First Gen Dog Training

I have to start with saying that Devan is great. He’s extremely knowledgeable and even his calm demeanor around our dog settled her down during the consultation. We have a German Shepard who was extremely reactive and deathly afraid of other dogs and was starting to become fearful of people too. When Devan did our consultation he laid out a plan for us and over the course of 6 training sessions we have the best trained dog/puppy (8 months old) my wife and I have ever had. We also feel that Devan went above and beyond our expectations providing us with videos tailored to the specific situations we were experiencing with our puppy, helping us build a confidence course, and many other things. I would recommend Devan and First Gen Dog Training to everyone!

Devan has transformed our puppy. We brought him a very fearful German Shepherd and after our private lessons, she’s built up enough confidence to manage her anxious behavior when out in public. With every lesson, he taught me exactly what I needed to do in order to reach our end goal to a T. Even after our initial set of lessons, he continued to reach out and provide guidance and meet up with us to further train our dog. Aside from helping build her confidence, all of the basic obedience and house-manners he’s taught us has completely changed how I will train all of my future dogs too. I genuinely can’t say enough about how thankful I am to Devan. I would trust him with any of my animals now and in the future.

We started training with our 1-year-old black lab after things at home got pretty overwhelming—he had a ton of energy and it got to the point where my wife and I couldn’t even relax and enjoy evenings together. The difference after training has been incredible. Our home is so much calmer, and we can actually sit down, watch TV, and enjoy time together again. Even our cats, who used to keep their distance, are now more comfortable and often come hang out with us on the couch. The whole experience has been a complete transformation of our household dynamic. The trainer was also extremely kind, patient, and easy to work with. You can tell they truly care about what they do and the families they help. Highly recommend to anyone struggling with a high-energy pup—it’s absolutely worth it.

We had a very rambunctious 1-year-old black lab, and before training, my husband and I couldn’t even enjoy a simple evening watching TV together. Our dog had so much energy and it felt like our whole routine revolved around trying to manage the chaos. Since starting training, it has been a complete 180. Our home feels calm, we can actually relax together in the evenings, and even our cats have started coming back around and hanging out with us on the couch again—which never used to happen! On top of that, the trainer is incredibly personable, kind, and genuinely cares. You can tell they want both you and your dog to succeed.
