Fetch the Leash! Dog Behavior & Training

If you are looking for high-quality training for your four-legged friend, look no further. In the ten months since Ruby entered our lives, we've taken four classes with Megan and Maria and have enjoyed each one more than the last. Their knowledge and caring is apparent, and they certainly love what they do! We have also taken advantage of their 1-on-1 training for special issues, which helped Ruby overcome her resource guarding. These sessions are worth their weight in gold. Their training methods are rewards-based, which uses positive (pawsitive?) reinforcement leading to happier, more active doggy participants. We cannot recommend them enough!

I highly recommend Megan and Maria at Fetch the Leash, my dog Sunny and I have attended Puppy Socials (it took Sunny 6 weeks of going twice a week plus his weekly training class to want to play with other pups, but once he did there was no turning back, he LOVES other dogs now). The puppy socials gave my rescue pup the confidence he needed to adjust through transitioning to his new home and the gave me the confidence to manage him with other dogs. The Puppy Pre-School class was essential, it taught me way more than I could have hoped for in a short amount of time and really trained me to see how with just a little bit of effort (a few 5-15 minutes sessions with my pup a week) I could get him nailing the tasks/tricks being taught (Family members have been impressed with his behavior around others thanks to the training we've been working on). When the Stay at Home order arrived and we moved to online classes I was wondering how it would work...IT'S BEEN AWESOME! Not only is it a great break from the day to day of working from home and staying at home but it's working really well. Sunny's skill set and his consistency are improving greatly. The ease of just walking over to the computer with a bag of treats and my pup to log in to the group video is amazingly simple and easier than having to drive somewhere and find parking. You get time on the calls to ask questions specific to your dog and the instructors are great about controlling the mute feature well and showing video demos or working with their dogs to demo. The can see so much during the moments when we are all practicing. It's way more effective than I ever dreamed. Though we miss seeing Meg and Maria and the other pups in person, this is an awesome solution! (Already signed up for class #3 to keep it up.)

Me & my pup have worked with both Megan and Maria in 2 of their classes (Puppy Intermediate and Beyond the Basics), as well as gone to many Puppy Socials. Everything at Fetch the Leash! has been a huge help to my dog's journey to becoming a super well mannered, socialized, and obedient. Now, he plays very well with dogs of all sizes & breeds, and doesn't hesitate to obey every critical command (sit, stay, come, go to bed, leave it, drop it). This has greatly improved our quality of life. I look forward to more classes to build on the solid foundation they have given me & my dog.
