Thank you so much!!! When working with dogs accessing decisions/behaviors on the insecure/fearful end of the spectrum, creating/reshaping the relationship is the foundation for behavioral changes. These core changes creates a level of trust and predictability that this type of personality is looking for. You had a lot of the pieces, we just had to rearrange those pieces in a way that made more functional sense to her than the way she was doing things.

Thank you! Older dogs are sometimes harder to work with, not because they can’t learn, but because of the vested interest in doing things their way for so long…no different than a lot people. You add in breed specific propensities that also magnify the “stubbornness” and it can be overwhelming. Breaking down the big picture into smaller pieces that both the dog and the human can understand allows the rebuilding of relationship, expectations, and performance in such a way that can only lead to success.

Thank you! The 1 on 1 private lessons has been a large part of our success over the years. In this atmosphere we are able to really hone in on the issues/goals and really work in a focused manner to build the proper team dynamic/relationship. Most of the dogs we work with, need a more focused approach. This includes the owner/handler being involved/hands-on during the entire process. Understanding how to be a proper leader within the ongoing relationship is a process over time. The more time/practice is put in, the more solidified the relationship will be and this leads to successfully reaching goals.
