Family Dog Obedience & Training

Abby has helped with my patience significantly with my very high energy Australia shepherd, Sadie, since she was a puppy. Abby is very skillful with her work and creative with options. She knows what she is talking about and is prepared for any situation you give her. Recently, she came to visit and gave us really good advice for Sadie to help with the transition of adding a baby to the household. She isn’t only a dog trainer, she is an owner trainer as well. We are first time dog parents and had so many questions and unknowns. We hired Abby to train our puppy (our puppy lived with Abby during the training). Abby’s professionalism, expertise, and guidance are worth every dollar. Abby was accessible and always prioritized safety. She explained the why behind things so we could better understand the approaches used. Our pup is now home with us and Abby remains an incredible asset and guide for us, as we navigate life as a dog family. Abby adequately prepared us for what kind of expectations to have, expected regression, and how to move forward. So grateful to have landed with the best dog trainer (and dog parent trainer) out there!

We have LOVED working with Abby! We have a 5-ish-year-old rescue beagle who can be stubborn, and we had worked with another trainer previously. Our dog did a 4-week board and train with Abby, and he learned so much. Abby trained us too through videos and a training session when we picked him up! I love that she uses positive reinforcement methods and is patient with the dogs. Our dog will walk straight into his crate now when asked and is totally quiet when he is in there. He can walk loosely on a leash, sit, lie down, stay, etc., when asked. The training helped him be all around more laid back. These may sound like small things, but they are really all we wanted from his training and could not achieve on our own or with a previous trainer. Abby also did not set unrealistic expectations and was very communicative about how he was doing. We also love boarding him here when we go out of town, and it helps reinforce his training. He comes home tired from playing and on his best behavior. I really trust Abby to do what is best for my dog and am so grateful we found her in Columbus!
