Before getting our puppy, we knew we wanted to give him the very best training possible, so we spent weeks researching different options and trying to find the right fit. After extensive research, we ultimately decided that a board and train program was the best choice. However, we were very selective about who we trusted with him. We wanted him to receive excellent training without losing his personality or coming home feeling more like a robot than a dog. We found Carlos through a recommendation from a friend, and we could not be happier with our decision. Carlos spent four weeks working with our puppy, who was naturally shy and, at times, genuinely fearful. He came home a happy, confident, well mannered, and obedient dog who was still completely himself. Throughout the entire four weeks, Carlos sent us photos and videos every day, which gave us tremendous peace of mind and allowed us to see the progress firsthand. It was clear not only that our puppy was being trained, but that he was genuinely being cared for and treated as part of the family. What made the experience even more valuable was the environment Carlos created. His own dog helped our puppy become comfortable and confident around other dogs, while his daughter helped him learn how to safely and appropriately interact with our 12 month old daughter at the time. Those real life experiences were just as important to us as the obedience training itself. We cannot recommend Carlos highly enough. We can’t recommend Carlos at Exclusive Dog Training enough! We adopted our 4-year-old yellow Lab from the Gloucester County shelter, and after a couple of weeks we realized she wasn’t properly socialized and was extremely fear-aggressive toward men. She would growl, show her teeth, and lunge, and as first-time dog owners, we were honestly terrified she would bite someone. We were even considering returning her to the shelter because we didn’t know how to help her. Working with Carlos completely changed everything. He taught us that obedience creates confidence and gave us the tools to help our dog feel safe instead of afraid. What started as weekly two-hour sessions has become occasional maintenance visits because she’s made so much progress. Now we can have people over without constantly worrying, and our dog has routines that help her stay calm and successful around strangers. Carlos has also gone above and beyond by checking in on us and even FaceTiming us during snowstorms so we wouldn’t miss training. Without Carlos, we truly don’t think we would still have our dog.
