Exceptional Pet Dog Training Center

We got our white German Shepherd, Misha, when he was just 2 months old, and as first-time dog owners, we had no idea where to begin. Our vet recommended Exceptional Pets (EP), and it was truly the best advice we could have received. We enrolled Misha in the puppy kindergarten program, where he joined three other pups. From day one, we saw immediate results—not just in Misha, but in how we learned what we should be doing as owners. In addition to the class, Misha attended Socialization sessions and the daycare program, spending dedicated time with trainers, other dogs and meeting their owners. This combination gave him the best start we could have asked for. The staff at EP are incredibly friendly, professional, and most importantly, they follow a humane, positive philosophy. There are no forceful methods, no harsh corrections, and certainly no use of electric collars—just patient, effective training rooted in respect for the dog. Today, Misha is 1 year and 4 months old, and he has proudly completed EP’s full program: elementary, middle, and high school. Everywhere we go, friends, neighbors, and even strangers notice how well-behaved and responsive he is. That wouldn’t have been possible without the EP team. A special thank you to Donna McNerney, his primary school instructor, who has continued to support us through home visits. With her guidance, Misha now lives peacefully with our 12 cats, all as one big happy family—something we never thought possible in the beginning! We are so grateful for the consistency, compassion, and expertise of the EP staff. If you’re looking for excellent training, professional guidance, and a supportive, positive environment for both dogs and owners, we cannot recommend Exceptional Pets enough. My dog has taken numerous classes with the Exceptional Pet, beginning with puppy training. Over the years we worked with multiple trainers and found all of them to be effective, enthusiastic and patient. Most recently, Sandy has been fantastic in therapy dog training and other specialty classes. She and the other trainers are also a valuable resource for help with questions about things like dog behavior and choosing dog supplies. I highly recommend the Exceptional Pet for anyone who wants to train their dog at any age.
