Equilibrium Canine

Let me start by saying I have fostered lots of tough dogs and thus worked with many different dog trainers. Nick and Equilibrium Canine however, are different. Nick’s core value is teaching communication and trust. We sent our 9 month old schnauzer mix to board and train after struggling with extreme pulling and dog reactivity. Finley came back a truly happier, calmer, more confident canine. We didn’t think it would ever be possible to be off leash in a public park with him, and now, we can take him anywhere. Did I mention Nick trains the owners too. We were able to spend hours transferring knowledge, and when I still had questions, Nick met up with me and Finley one on one to answer them! Don’t waste your dogs time or your money going anywhere else.

Great experience with Nick, he was a complete professional and very thorough about the training he did for my two dogs. They each did the board and train program with him and they came back extremely well-behaved, with Nick spending a few hours with me upon each dog’s return to make sure the new behaviors transferred to me and my home without a hitch :). You can tell from the care and attention he gives each dog that Nick truly cares about each client and their dog(s), and he wants to ensure the best possible results!

Nick has been incredibly helpful in teaching me and my husband how to work with our overly excited 1 year old dog, Randall. Randall gets very excited when he sees other dogs, and when he’s not allowed to say hello he becomes frustrated and reactive. We worked with several other trainers without any relief before finding Equilibrium Canine Training. Nick helped us to identify potential sources of frustration around our home, and taught us how to set healthy boundaries to support Randall. We worked on lead drills, focusing not only on reducing his ability to pull on lead, but how to use them to strengthen our bond with Randall. He also taught us how to interpret Randall’s body language – allowing us to have a better understanding of when he’s becoming over excited or is feeling anxious. Since implementing what we learned from Nick, the difference in Randall has been night and day. He is calmer, happier, and listens more. We can now take walks without him constantly lunging and pulling towards other dogs. We are so grateful that we started working with Nick, he has made such a positive impression on our dog’s behavior and life!

Nick is a wonderful trainer. He has given us the tools to train our dog, provide guidance, and encourage us in the process! Tank is a stubborn 3 year old English Bulldog. He is my very first dog. You can imagine the challenges we've been facing (the jumping and nipping). Our dog started training with Nick, August of 2021and we were able to train Tank with the skills Nick has taught us. Tank has come a LONG way. Before meeting Nick, my boyfriend and I could not be in a room together with out Tank jumping on me. This went on for 2 years. Now we're able to enjoy movie nights together without Tank lounging on me. Tank has quickly picked up on the concepts that Nick teaching. I give all of the credit to his training methods and guidance. We've had 5 other trainers prior to Nick. Nick is the ONLY trainer that has helped us. Nick has helped us with Tank's behaviors. Which is what we needed. It is also clear to me that Nick enjoys what he do. He care about his clients and the dogs he train! We are very happy that we found Nick!
