Equilibrium Canine

We sent Piña (P), our rescue from Puerto Rico, to a 7-week board-and-train with Nick and couldn’t be happier with the experience. He’s a quirky and amazing dog, but was very anxious and had an overwhelming number of triggers. We live a very active life, and our goal has always been to have P join us on our travels and adventures, but as his triggers continued to escalate, it became unmanageable. Through patience, compassion, and enthusiasm, Nick helped build confidence and calm in P, while giving him the tools to navigate the world without fear. During the handover session, we immediately saw results in areas that had previously been extremely challenging for him. Now, he’s able to move through those situations easily and calmly. Nick is extremely considerate in his approach with each dog. He took the time to truly get to know P and tailor the program to his unique needs. It was clear that P was understood and supported every step of the way. Not only did Nick change P’s outlook, but he also helped shape ours as owners. Post–board and train, Nick worked with us to ensure we understood the techniques, could apply them correctly, and felt confident maintaining P’s progress. We are now fully equipped to support P in a consistent, effective, and compassionate way. We are incredibly grateful for Nick’s dedication and for the transformation he helped bring about. We couldn’t recommend him more highly!

I first started working with Nick after moving back with my then 8 month old dog. She's a an extremely sensitive dog who came from the streets in the middle east, and had a hard time adjusting to life here. I trust very few trainers and people in general to look after my dog, but Nick is one of the absolute most trustworthy trainers. The methods he uses to train are extremely humane and he genuinely loves the work that he does. He takes each dog's needs seriously, and adjusts his training style to meet the dog where the dog is at. He takes the time to bond with the dog, and build a real relationship to gain the dog's trust. It's amazing how fast he's able to do this. Nick was able to help tremendously with her anxiety, lead work, and adapting to her new environment. In addition, I had my dog do a board and train program with him to help with severe anxiety and locking up on the leash. It was getting unbearable, and Nick was able to help to the point where walking is no longer an issue. He also came to teach my family how to handle all of our dogs being in the same house, without chaos. He helped us to go from extreme stress with managing 3 dogs, to being able to all be together without the anxiety of the dogs misbehaving. It is truly life changing. If you're looking for a reliable, effective, humane and genuinely caring trainer, I absolutely recommend Nick!

I cannot say enough good things about Nick and the amazing impact he’s had on my pup, Bowen! Bowen has deep anxiety and a long history of dog reactivity and Nick has taught us both how to connect with each other and a method to work through his stressors and help him choose me and our work over the rest of the world. Nick has helped Bowen have an amazing breakthrough that I feel like I’ve been looking for for a long long time. This is a dog I would’ve thought couldn't socialize with others and now he actually has dog friends and a healthy way to socialize! AND I can now bring him with me and he can actually relax in public ♥️ I’m forever grateful and feel so lucky to have found equilibrium canine!
