Emily's K9 Training

When we first came to Emily, our pup Simba was struggling with severe reactivity and anxiety. It was becoming a stressful situation for my husband and I and we needed help. The day we met Emily, Daniel and Casey they were welcoming and understanding to our unique situation and gave us immediate insight to the possible reasons behind Simba's behavior. We opted to leave Simba in the Board and Train program, and it was worth it. If I could put it in a scale of zero to 10, his reactivity has decreased to a two. He has learned basic obedience, and I am often amazed by how much less he barks. Emily and her team have continued to work with us at home to help us enhance the training. Overall, we are all happy, including Simba. Thank you Emily's K9 Training!

We have nothing but positive things to say about Emily and her team! We came across Emily's business while searching for a trainer who specializes in reactivity and provides boarding services. After the initial assessment, we committed to their 6-week private training package and have no regrets! From the beginning, we could tell Emily genuinely cared for Misu and her development. Misu can be extremely cautious when meeting new people, but she took to Emily and her staff within seconds. Emily took the time to listen to us, assess Misu, and structure each training session as needed. Not only did Emily successfully demonstrate her techniques with Misu, but she also ensured we understood why Misu reacted in certain situations and how to handle them through her balance training methods. Emily assigned us homework between sessions and was available to answer questions, whether about methods she demonstrated in a prior session or something entirely different. Misu's greatest issue was fixation. She always needed to know where a dog was around her, especially if it was behind her. If dogs approached her, she would become defensive and bark uncontrollably. Emily guided Misu to a point where she would not get triggered by a dog standing 4 or 5 feet away, and advanced to calmly lying on the ground when dogs walked 2 feet around and behind her, all while being focused on us and ignoring said dog voluntarily! There were multiple times when Misu and I were at a park nearby doing our homework, and a dog would approach or zoom by her, but she maintained her focus on us! It felt great to see all our training with Emily work out in the real world! Emily helped us with Misu's fixation and more, and we have nothing but gratitude for her and her team. It was a joy to see how excited Misu would get when she realized we were going to Emily's, and how happy she was interacting with everyone and during training. We also loved Emily's setup and plan on using her boarding services in the near future. We learned so much from Emily and highly recommend her and her staff for all your dog training needs! I would also like to give a special thanks to Daniel, as he was our first point of contact and with whom we communicated when scheduling and rescheduling sessions!

Emily and her husband are such a great team. He was my first point of contact to book an appointment with them, and then she was so kind and thorough to answer all of our questions so that we could board our standard sized goldendoodle with her. They kept in contact with us while we were away and were so wonderful with the pickup hours. Though our kids were worried at first about leaving our sweet pup with anyone, Emily put their fears to ease and they love visiting her if they can. Her set up is great in her yard and we look forward to boarding Callie with her again if the opportunity arises!
