Elated Canine

The wife and I enrolled our 5ish month old perfect full breed mutt named Buckey into Elated Canines day training program. We had very little in expectations besides…… maybe the basics. Jocelyn, the elated canine team and her family are nothing short of amazing. We are now in the group training and loving it. Will continue with elated as long as we can. I’m sure you can tell by a few of Buckeys pictures in the care of elated canine…. Buckey wouldn’t argue.

I need to take a moment to acknowledge the the person/business that has been such an enormous gift to our family! Jocelyn (Elated Canine) quite literally rescued us when our rescue pup needed some serious help! Having been a lifelong animal lover that has worked in various rescue environments— I truly believed I knew it all when it came to providing the best possible care for my dogs. When we added our third pup to our family in 2021, I figured he would just seamlessly fit into our family and learn how to properly interact with our three children and two other dogs. This was not the case… at roughly 8 months old we discovered some strong reactive behaviors that included guarding (resources and people) and what appeared efforts, with two in home sessions from a l t virtual consultations… matters only got worse and his behavior became more unpredictable (or so I thought). Terrified about the possibility of having to rehire our beloved boy, I called Jocelyn at Elated Canine for some help. She spent hours on the phone with me, talking me through some options and helping me to understand her training techniques. Honestly, I was skeptical at first because I had very strong beliefs regarding training methods and absolutely did not want to rely on an “E-Collar” or have to implement rules that were too restrictive. After completing a weeklong board and train with Jocelyn… my whole mindset began to shift. The more I learned about the science of dog behavior and the role of consistent training, exercise and REST (crate rest), the more I came to understand how, despite my deep devotion to my pups, I was in fact, not meeting their needs because I was completely ignoring the Behavior cues that were clearly indicating the need for more structure, boundaries and communication. Jocelyn has been there for our family through every step and has worked with EACH of us to help us build strong foundation for a lifetime of success with our boy Malcolm! I credit Jocelyn for the fact that Malcolm is able to live his best life with us— with ongoing support and direction from Jocelyn and her team at Elated Canine I know that Malcolm will enjoy a lifetime of adventures and love in our family!

Have a golden retriever that we nicknamed Monster because she had no manners, wouldn’t listen and essentially declared herself the boss of the house. We sent her to Jocelyn for two weeks and she came back home a completely different dog. She listens, obeys commands and now sleeps in a crate with no issues. It was a miracle and a drastic change all thanks to Jocelyn. If you are on the fence on whether to send your four legged friends to training, you should pick Elated Canine.
