Einstein's Canine College

Brittany, perhaps most importantly, it appears you are not and have not been registered for any training class with Einstein's Canine College. Einstein's Canine College have never claimed to be a fear-free trainers. There are many ways to train dogs.<br>Again, there is not one way to train a dog, there are many, it really depends on what avenue the owner wants to take and how challenging the puppy is. It is our experience that a mixture of aversive and positive training yields the quickest results and most folks like quick results. Having said that, if somebody is willing to put in the extra time or is not prepared to use any kind of aversive training that is fine with us. We understand that some rescues require you to only use positive training methods and we do not force the use of prong collars on anybody.<br>However, to imply the use of prong collars is cruel is just a demonstration of ignorance, used correctly they are an effective and humane training tool. They mimic the correction of another dogs jaws on their neck and hence are particularly effective in communicating a correction to a puppy. Even if you do not agree, or the person who had their puppy in one of the classes did not agree, if they had shared their concern then we would have showed them purely positive training to teach a pup to heal on a leash.<br>The point being, there are many opinions, it is only when we choose not to listen to alternate opinions that we stop learning. That is a personal choice we all make.<br>It is just a shame to think that someone in one of our classes did not communicate their feelings to us, if they had we would have been happy to indicate alternate positive training.
