Eastern Florida Dog Training

I can’t express how great of an experience this has been for us and our 2 pups. This isn’t just another all 5 star review dog training company. This is gonna be long but that’s the only way I can explain why and it’s worth the read if you’ve gone through the same “Dog Trainers” I did. I have gone through 2 different trainers and Eastern Florida Dog Training was going to be my last attempt at “dog training”. I have one extremely energized and crazy but amazing dog, Yahtzee, who we believe to be a mostly border collie or a similar herding dog mix. (Brandon has compared her to Belgian Malinois energy). Our first board and train that we did with her was not at all sufficient. I basically convinced myself that the $5k I just dropped wasn’t for nothing and everything they taught me was working because she would “do what she was told” but I had no idea what I was doing with all these new tools (ecollar, prong collar, when to treat, words to use and when, etc.) Like anyone, it’s a lot to learn and they did our go home session in about 15-30min at a random park. Needless to say, the issues I had with her anxiety, barking, not listening, testing me at every possible moment, etc. was still there. Later down the line, I got another trainer in PSJ Florida. He had different ways of using the same tools. I opted in for the training sessions with him because I wanted to learn the way trainers train and not just in a 15min go home session. Turned out everything he told me abused the tools we had and harmed both Yahtzee and our other younger dog, Tilly. His solution and approach was dominance over the dog, increasing our ecollar’s levels super high to get them to stop barking, and even kicking/jabbing our dogs if we didn’t want them in a certain space. This obviously did not work at all and it severely harmed our relationship with our dogs, their view of these tools, and any problems we had before were 10x worse. My absolute last chance was with Brandon. And I have done ALOT of research on what to look for to NEVER put our dogs through anything like that or the quick and go board and trains again. Brandon checked all of those boxes. I told him upfront in our consultation our past and my skepticism. He understood completely and the consultation was zero pressure and just great info. This gave me a better vibe to move forward with his advanced 6-week program for Yahtzee and the 4-week for Tilly. It was a long wait but man was it worth it. Our go home session with Yahtzee was not constrained within a small timeframe. Brandon took the time to really explain everything we needed to know to succeed with Yahtzee and we have done exactly that. I was amazed that she listened, didn’t bolt out the door, and we even went on a walk off leash in our neighborhood so he could prove to me this was real because my skepticism was still prevalent. Brandon has had soooo much patience to redo the emotional and mental trauma we have put our dogs through and I am so grateful to have found him when we did. I recommend him in a heartbeat. He cares for these dogs. He loves what he does. And dog training like he does isn’t on a 9-5 schedule. Thank you for the time you take not just for my dogs but for anyone else’s life you’re able to help change.

Brandon was not only extremely kind and non judgmental to our situation, but was able to give us insight, tips and homework to do while we wait for our lessons to begin. He provided peace of mind in a stressful situation and brings the knowledge and skills we need to the table. Pricing is very reasonable and I truly felt as though we are part of his extended family. I feel comfortable and confident knowing that he will teach not only our dogs but also us, the humans; what we need to know to have a safe and healthy home with happy dogs.

Our Rottweiler, Maverick, is 2.5 years old and like many powerful guardian breeds, he began developing behaviors that we knew needed to be addressed. He was becoming reactive and sometimes aggressive toward unfamiliar people and new situations. As Rottweiler owners, we understand the responsibility that comes with this breed and knew this was not something to ignore or hope would resolve on its own. That is when we made the decision to invest in the six week board and train program with Brandon. Sending Maverick away for that long was not easy. He is our baby. But from the very beginning Brandon gave us confidence that Maverick was in the right hands. Throughout the entire program he kept us updated with photos and videos and never once made us feel like we were bothering him when we wanted a status check on our boy. The transformation has been incredible. Maverick came home calmer, more focused, and clearly understanding structure and expectations. The go home session was just as valuable because Brandon did not just train our dog, he trained us. He took the time to explain how Maverick thinks, how to properly lead him, and gave us practical tools so we can stay consistent moving forward. Since coming home, Maverick has been doing amazing. The difference in his confidence and ability to handle situations that used to trigger him has been remarkable. It has given us a level of peace of mind we did not have before. We can see how much more confident and settled he is, and it is clear he understands what is expected of him. Rottweilers often get labeled as “aggressive” when in reality they are powerful guardian breeds that require clear leadership, structure, and consistency. Brandon truly understands this breed and works with them in a way that builds trust, discipline, and confidence, which Maverick needed! Upon our first consultation, Brandon answered questions spent a lot of time and even afterwards responded promptly with any questions we had.
