East Bay Dog Spot Dog Training

This review is going to be a bit long winded but I hope those that are considering working with Makayla will take the time to read it. I called Makayla just a little over four weeks ago, close to tears, and extremely overwhelmed. We rescued our Zoe in October, when she was 8 weeks old. and while we had good intentions of her training, we fell very short of what she needed. I tend to make great life choices ( insert sarcasm here),and getting a puppy right before we moved states seemed like a great idea. We were in over our heads and just thought we were the worst pet owners. From my first interaction with Makayla I knew I had called the right person. She was caring, understanding, and gave her honest opinion as to what training style would be best for our family. We signed up for the four week one on one personal training. This allowed our whole family to be a part of the process, which is exactly what we needed. On our first visit we were met by a smiling face that made us feel comfortable immediately. She never once made us feel as if we were horrible dog parents, she guided us to making better choices to make Zoe successful. After just the first week we noticed major improvements in Zoe and how we were handling the situations at home. Each week we reviewed what we learned, Makayla took time to be available to us for questions in between sessions, and during sessions we were able to discuss our concerns and Zoes achievements. We just finished our 4th lesson and I can say we have a totally different dog, because Makayla armed us with the tools to be different dog parents. One thing my family and I understood was that we needed to be honest about how we were handling those hard moments at home, what we were not doing, and what we were hoping to accomplish. We were completely transparent with her in each session, so she was able to really use her knowledge, and skills to help us the most. Because let me tell you something, Makayla knows exactly what she is doing. Have you ever seen someone at their chosen profession and said to yourself," Wow this person is right where they need to be?" Well that is Makayla.Zoe was so responsive to her and we never felt like any question we asked was silly or dumb, because she always had an answer or a tool to help us work through our concern. If you are even toying with the idea of training at East Bay Dog Spot I would say stop delaying and do it now. It is worth every penny and we are so grateful to be a part of this community now.

Having taken a puppy class at a big chain pet store in the past, I wasn't expecting much when I signed up my pup for her first East Bay Dog Spot class. Instead, I was blown away! We had so much fun and learned so much. We start our third class, Pups in Public, in a couple of weeks and couldn't be more excited. In addition to providing top notch training, East Bay Dog Spot offers a fantastic community of dog lovers. Participation in community events and monthly pack walks provide plenty of opportunities to put your training to use and to help your pup live their best life.
