East Bay Dog Spot Dog Training

Cannot recommend East Bay and Makayla enough!! This was one of the best decisions we have made. Our home training has been a game changer. Makayla is so wonderful with dogs and the owners who are also learning. We saw immediate improvements and felt set up for success in every way from her lessons. By week three our 6 month old lab was so calm when we had visitors I was worried she wasn’t feeling well if that tells you anything! Truly didn’t want our sessions to end. So thankful for her help and can’t wait to continue with group lessons!

We took advantage of the private classes with Makayla for our pup, Benson. She listened to our concerns, familiarized herself with our lifestyle, and observed Benson's behaviors.  She modified and added techniques during each class to meet our specific needs and based on his progress. Her calm demeanor and flexible approach helped us to stay relaxed and focused to achieve the best possible outcomes. We are very pleased with Benson's progress, and we have learned skills to help him continue to be a well behaved and happy pup.

I would highly recommend East Bay Dog Spot! We started with private lessons followed by group classes (All Things Puppy, Beginner Basics, and Tricks class), in order to practice new and old skills in a setting of distractions. The private lessons with Makayla were tailored to what we needed most help with and she was always available via email in between lessons to help and fine tune a skill. Even if we had learned skills in private sessions, I still got so much out of group classes. There was always a new approach to be learned, exposing our dog to other dogs and people in a safe and controlled setting, and working through distractions. They train using positive reinforcement only, which was important to me. It's always a great bonding and fun experience and SO many lightbulb moments for both me and the dog! I can now take her out in public and even do a short shopping trip. Those would have been an impossibility prior to our training sessions here. That's not to say there weren't many moments of frustration during our training, but Makayla is not only awesome at redirecting dogs but also humans (like myself) from despair 😂. We look forward to going back each time!
