Dusty Dog Training

I enrolled my 11 mos old pitsky in the 3 week board and train. We ended up completing 4 weeks of board and train to insure Hāloa made meaningful change. Hāloa is very high energy husky and pitbull mix. We had a strong goal to have Hāloa be trained as a service dog. With our first training session Kathini assesed Hāloa's qualities and encouraged us that she has what it takes. It's been a night and day change with Hāloa! Kathini even went as far as flying with us for our first flight as a service dog. I cannot speak highly enough of the dog training services provided by Dustin and Kathini. From the moment we enrolled our beloved Hāloa, we knew we were in good hands. Dustin and Kathini demonstrated a profound understanding of canine behavior and psychology, tailoring the training sessions to suit Hāloa's unique needs perfectly. Their positive reinforcement techniques were incredibly effective, fostering a trusting and cooperative relationship between us and our furry friend. Not only did Dustin and Kathini teach Hāloa basic obedience commands, but they also addressed specific behavioral issues with patience and expertise. Throughout the training process, Dustin and Kathini maintained open communication, providing valuable insights and progress updates. Their dedication and passion for what they do truly shine through in every session. I am a dog trainer myself both CPDT-KA & CPDT-KSA certified, but I’m disabled now and am no longer able to do my own training due to being unable to stand or kneel for any period. This made me very picky when it became obvious I needed to hire a trainer to provide me with a consistent recall for my Dogo Argentino. This breed is very independent and is difficult to train. Dustin had him for a 3 week board and train. When he returned him, Bob was happy, very well mannered and had a solid 100% recall. He ignores all distractions now and is well mannered with both myself and my wife. I cannot say enough good things about Dustin. If you have a problem dog or just a poorly behaved dog, Dustin is the best on the island hands down.

Dustin is a great guy and trainer! My dog was reactive to other small dogs and never really came back to me when I called him but after a couple stays with Dustin he’s a much improved dog! Haven’t seen him react yet to other dogs and his recall is great now! And Dustin will help you understand and teach you what to do as well for your pup. Plus a load of other positive stuff too I would Definitely recommend.

What a difference! Seriously, don't even hesitate. If you choose to use their services it will have been one the best decision you'll ever make for your family's and pet's quality of life. You won't regret it. Whether your dog has separation anxiety, over excitement, fear of situations/things, trouble obeying simple commands-they are both extremely skilled and well prepared to address any issue presented. I have a 120# mastiff and he struggles with many triggers causing him to react in fear. That's a lot of dog to manage! I could tell right away that dusty/Kahtini understood canine behavior and were observant in a way that only comes with vast experience. I very much appreciated Dusty's ability to set realistic expectations for us as well as both their patience with me (with my million questions on a regular basis) and my stubborn boy with his attachment anxiety. I feel so grateful to know they will always be an understanding resource I can turn to. I have recommend Dusty Dog training to most people I know with canine side kicks and anyone considering adding a dog to their ohana would benefit from their services.
