Duran's K9 Training

I put 5 stars because I can’t put 100! I can not say enough good things about Jorge and Duran K9 Training!! We had an extremely reactive golden retriever who we could not even brush, bathe or bring him to the vet without him being sedated. He has drawn blood on us in the past and we had gone through 2 trainers. I was very hesitant to leave him with a trainer for a prolonged period of time until I met Jorge. Jorge had him for 5 weeks and completely changed our lives. We’ve had him back now for about 2 months and he gave us all of the tools we needed to succeed. He is so patient and caring with the dogs and you can tell that this is his passion- to help people understand their dog better. We got plenty of updates while he was there and advice if we had questions on how to approach something. It may not seem like a lot to some, but we’ve been able to successfully wash him, cut his hair, and clean out his ears which is HUGE for us. He gave us the confidence we needed to have a happy and respectful life with our dog and we could not be more grateful for Jorge! He also does boarding which is great and we will definitely be using him whenever we go out of town. If you need help with your pet, do no hesitate to call him!

My Dogs name is DUKE he is an American Akita. All I have to say is AMAZING TRAINER!!! Definitely makes a huge difference in just a short amount of time. Duke completed his basic obedience training and the improvement, is definitely shown! To be honest the results are insane! Duke is a lot calmer now. He has learned to be a chill observer of his surroundings as opposed to a reactive overstimulated one. He listens now and is able to hold commands. He doesn’t jump on people anymore. He doesn’t pull on the leash. Our daily walks are absolutely PERFECT now. The tools and information that I have received to continue his training and daily improvement have helped me so much. Im so happy and couldn’t be more grateful for Duran’s K-9 Training, extremely good care of my dog and great service and communication. I finally feel fully in control of my dog thank you to you and your team!

Thank you, Jorge and Duran K-9 Training. I did my research and spoke to many different trainers from Miami to West Palm Beach to find the right fit for me, my family and our dog Ghost. Duran K-9 was hands down the best decision. They ticked every box. Easy going, very respectful and an extremely knowledgeable guy. Not only did he teach Ghost his basic obedience and off leash training but he taught me to be a better dog owner and leader. He was the only highly reviewed trainer that offered the weekly classes to teach the handler and the drop off at home was priceless. His attention to detail is awesome. Jorge is a great trainer and has a deep understanding of how dogs make their decisions. My husband and I sent our 3yr old Great Dane, Zeus, to Jorge for training. Zeus is over 120lbs and would not listen to us on walks, would tug us down the road, and was very reactive to people and animals (he would lunge/bark when he saw either). This is not safe and irresponsible on us as dog owners, especially considering his size. After the first week of our 3 week board and train program, Zeus was no longer pulling (he was glued to our side) and he listened to about 90% of commands on the first try. I didn’t expect such quick turnaround, and it only got better from there. Jorge quickly found Zeus’s underlying problem, which was his anxiety. The other issue was how my husband and I handled him. We allowed him to be the leader on walks, so his instincts were to protect us as part of his pack. This was the cause of his aggression. Jorge helped us insert ourselves as the leader of the pack, taking the weight off of him and allowing him to relax on the walk. After the third week of Zeus’s training, we have a totally transformed dog. No pulling, no reactivity, and he is listening to our commands. Could not be happier with the result. Jorge is also extremely informative and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions while encouraging us to ask more. He was kind enough to give us tips for getting our other dog up to par with Zeus, which we appreciate greatly. Overall, it was worth every penny. Jorge helped train our dog to rely on us and, more importantly, he trained us on how to lead our dog. Would highly recommend this service to anyone with any kind of dog. Just be prepared to be missing your baby while they are gone! Thanks Jorge!

We can't thank Duran's K-9 Training enough for their amazing work. Our dog, Banjo, a Corgi mix, is two years old, and his behavior had deteriorated considerably in recent months. When we walked him, he would try to jump on cars, bicycles, and other dogs. He was terrified of sirens and loud noises, and at home, he would jump on visitors. In short, he had very high anxiety. However, in just four weeks, Jorge trained Banjo to become the respectful and loving dog we so desperately wanted. I would give him 10 stars! He met all the parameters of his basic training and even taught us how to continue using the same commands at home, ensuring the program's long-term success. Jorge is an excellent trainer, and dogs adore him.
