Ducktown Lodge & Dog Training

My sweet Doppler is not typically boarded — I usually have a friend stay with him when I travel. However, when she wasn’t available for a trip in October 2025, I needed to find an alternative. A friend recommended Ducktown Lodge, where she had previously done some training. I called and spoke with Lucinda York, who invited me to come out for a walkthrough before booking. The facility was immaculate, and the boarding rooms were spacious and comfortable. I immediately felt confident leaving Doppler there. During his week-long stay, Sara sent me videos of Doppler looking so happy and relaxed — it truly put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend Ducktown Lodge for anyone’s boarding needs. It’s a lovely facility with a caring and professional staff!

We can’t say enough about this incredible dog boarding facility! From start to finish, the experience was heartwarming and exceptional. The team’s organization and genuine care for our dogs were evident in every detail. They sent frequent video updates and photos, each one showing our babies absolutely thriving with joy. The facility itself is impeccably clean, and designed with such thoughtfulness, creating a true home away from home for our furry family members. Lucinda and her husband were beyond kind and accommodating, making pick up and drop off of our multiple dogs effortless and stress free. Our whole family has a little dog-related anxiety, due to 13 years with a sometimes sweet, sometimes vicious dog. When we brought a new pup into our house, we wanted to make sure it was a different experience. Mikey was sweet from the start, but was getting a little uncontrollable in his adolescence, and refused to give up his sock/shoe fetish. Mikey spent two weeks with Sara for board and train, and came home just as sweet, but a little more grown up. Her training method, using an e-collar to get attention from the dog, and not as a negative correction, has made Mikey so proud of himself. He actually loves getting commands and following them. That, and Sara's commitment to continuing education for graduates of her program, make Ducktown Dog Training a fantastic investment.

Rizzeaux has truly found her home away from home. In the past, leaving our golden doodle at boarding facilities was a source of anxiety, as we were never certain how she would adapt to being around so many other dogs. Ducktown Lodge has completely transformed that experience for us. Rizzeaux now receives personalized attention and thrives in the care of people she adores. From our very first meet-and-greet, Lucinda created an atmosphere of trust, compassion, and genuine care. Her attentiveness continued throughout Rizzeaux’s stay, making the entire process seamless and reassuring. The daily updates and video check-ins were an unexpected delight—an invaluable touch that brought us peace of mind and would be worth any additional cost. Thanks to Ducktown Lodge, both Rizzeaux and her mom can now travel with confidence, knowing she has a safe, loving place to call her second home.

I was so nervous about how my dog Koda would do at boarding for the first time ever, but the second I received a picture of him having a BLAST in the yard, I knew I made the right choice!! I realized I had made the best decision to trust in Sara, Lucinda, and Jeff to take care of my baby. Their smaller facility ensures each dog receives specialized individual care and playtime.
