Tyler did a great job with our Hurricane rescue dog, Wishbone. Wishbone came to us with some possible history of abuse and was skin and bones. Once he had good nutrition, he grew a ton and his energy sky-rocketed and I could not get his training to the level we needed with 5 young kids and a large likely pit-boxer mix. And with true 1 year old puppy form, he was chewing everything when my back was turned! After the board and train, Wishbone listens to his commands and is able to calm down and leaves the kids toys alone. I left 4 instead of 5 stars (I wish there was something in between) because I was told very last minute that he needed more food, but was not given a timeline and he was out of food 24 hours later. Also, the food/water bowls we used got lost. However, Tyler did replace the lost bowls and is not a person that would have let him starve if I hadn't gotten more food to him. It was just super inconvenient timing to smash that in suddenly in my crazy kid-busy life.

I sent my 9 month old German Shepherd, Kay to Down South K9 for advanced obedience. Kay is so well behaved, I will send every dog I get to the same trainer, Tyler. Before training, Kay was a mess. She did not have any obedience training. After training with Down South K9, I can take her in to public, and she does all of her obedience off leash. Kay will do full obedience routines for my 6 year old daughter. Tyler was very kind and knowledgeable. He communicated with me very well, during and after training. I take Kay to visit Tyler occasionally, and she always loves to see him. I was worried about going so long without Kay, but the wait was well worth it. Down South K9’s prices are the best around, and I avoided the horror stories I’ve heard from my friends about other training companies. I would recommend Down South K9 to anyone needing dog training.

Tyler is amazing! He turned an impossible situation completely around for our pup, Boone. Our first trainer was not training Boone correctly, so Tyler had to untrain him first. Within a few weeks we had a very manageable puppy with manners and obedience. Tyler has the skills, knowledge and heart for doing what he does, not only for Boone but for us as well. He goes above and beyond for us to ensure Boone stays on track. I can't say enough about him. We are forever grateful!!

We recently hired Tyler to train our Goldendoodle based on a recommendation from the breeder. All I can say is WOW---he did an amazing job with her! Like any puppy she needed to be potty trained and needed to learn good behavior aka "puppy manners" . The difference in her was night and day. He teaches her all of the basic commands including not to jump and how to walk on a leash. He also communicates well and keeps you updated on progress. Do yourself a favor and let Tyler train your dog. You will not regret it and you'll have the best behaved dog on the block (unless you live on my street) 😄. Thank you Down South K-9!
