Finding Doug was a God-send. We are an older couple who are not experienced with dogs and we recently brought home a beagle puppy, Belinda. What were we thinking!? We thought we were in serious trouble with an out of control pup until Doug taught us how to work WITH her nature, not against it as traditional methods teach. We were extremely impressed that Doug asked for no money up front and told us we only pay him if we see results, which we saw the first day. Doug taught us what WE were doing wrong (pretty much everything) due to misinformation, and what our pup could and could not realistically conform to. Belinda welcomes Doug into our home, respects and responds to him like no other. Under his guidance, we are learning to command that same kind of respect. Doug's love for dogs and his proficiency as an educator overflow from his patient and friendly demeanor. I know he truly cares about us, our Belinda, and our success with creating a healthy relationship with her. Doug is quickly responsive to phone calls and questions and we have recommended him to anyone and everyone with a dog pet, not just new puppy parents. When we adopted our one year old pup, Eevee from the Animal Foundation, it was clear we were going to need all the help we could get with her high energy, zero obedience and strong willed personality. Doug worked tirelessly, teaching us patience and techniques to ensure that Eevee knows we are the leaders in our home. Now we have a stronger relationship with our dog who is much more submissive and relaxed. I have never met a trainer who is as kind, knowledgeable, dedicated and as passionate about their work as Doug. His countless hours and patience have been invaluable to us as a family and we will be forever grateful for this experience

This year we adopted a dog from the animal foundation. We didn’t know anything about her past. She was a wild mess. She would jump up on the counter and on top of tables and her crate. She was constantly taking things from around the house and running off with them (pillows, blankets, toys, etc). We had a family member recommend Doug so we called him up and set up the first appointment. By the end of the first session, Doug had our dog calm, relaxed, and submissive. Through the following sessions, we learned how to be patient leaders for our dog and over time she became a much better follower. She no longer jumps on the tables and isn’t obsessed with taking items that aren’t hers. Her “average energy level” has lowered very much as well. Our dog is now a manageable part of our family. If Doug hadn’t been part of the journey, I don’t know what we would have done. Doug’s emphasis on patience was definitely key! Thank you Doug!
