Trained Boarding is designed as a refresher course for our returning Camp graduates, a consultation for dogs that have not had formal training, or a time for mental stimulation during your dogs stay.
For training alumni: We work on increasing the 3D's: Distance, Duration, and Distraction level for each command they've already learned, to build reliability and reinforce continued good behavior.
For new clients: We use this time as a consultation with your dog, to understand their current behaviors and personality, and evaluate their needs, and make suggestions for Training Programs that could help you reach your goals
For recurring clients: Trained boarding is used as 1:1 time to get your dog out for play, a loose leash walk, or mental stimulation activities designed to keep your dog busy and engaged.

A magician or a dog trainer ? That's really the only big question I have.. first of all, I did months of research before going with Steve & I am soo glad I chose Domestic Dog Training. My lab puppy (9 months) was a good boy before but had sooo much excitement that it was impossible to control him. Vet suggested I take him for more walks, well even after our 3 LONG walks a day, we'd come back inside and BAM, another burst of energy. . Steve was soo reassuring and answered my million questions, even drove 45 minutes ONE way to meet me half way his first day & then was kind enough to bring him to my house today when he finished his 2 week residency (saved me 3 hours total drive) oh, speaking of 2 weeks... Steve could of easily kept Ollie for an extra 2 weeks & made double the $ but he is sooo honest & caring! Ollie is home now, the change is astonishing!! To see my crazy hyper puppy turn into this brilliant, calm, ball of love with all his new tricks, has made my heart smile! I am so grateful ❤ Oh, did I mention his pricing is the cherry on top!! I would of spent much more for the level of care & training my pup (& I) received happily too!

We were and are still thrilled with Domestic Dog Training! Our 6 month old puppy would constantly nudge, bark, pull on the leash, etc. to do all of the things he wanted, all the time. In just two weeks with Steve, he not only stopped all of this behavior, our pup was able to sit, down, heal and stay in place both on and off leash the first time we asked, every time. One year later and we are still truly amazed what Steve did. Cannot recommend Domestic Dog Training enough!
