Dogwood Canine Academy

Wil has a methodical way to train dogs that is humane, caring, and very effective. We did a board and train for 28 days with him, and the results were very impressive! Before training with Wil, our exuberant 10-month-old Golden was tackling kids, counter surfing, eating poop, and even knocked over my 87-year-old mother-in-law - all because he's just so happy. During training, Wil sent us daily updates with pictures and videos, so we could see his progress. These updates reassured us of his well-being, and he always looked so happy to be with Wil. He's a completely different dog now, but still has his sparkly personality; it's just in check. Wil is the "dog whisperer." He really taught us how to communicate more effectively with our dog so he knows what we want.

I’m so grateful I chose to trust Wil after already going through another training program that didn’t fully resonate with us. Our world was beginning to feel very small and that’s the opposite of how I want to approach life with my dog. Since having her home, for not even a whole week, our world has already expanded so much. The issues of reactivity she was experiencing towards other dogs has greatly shifted into being able to pass them or engage without issue, which allows us to embrace our outings vs stressing about leaving the house. His approach feels balanced and sustainable. It allows for her to be a dog and me to be a human rather than trying to maintain almost robotic standards. It’s been incredible to witness her growth so far and I can’t wait to keep doing life with her! Thankful we discovered Dogwood Canine!

Our pup Naiyo went to Dogwood Canine Academy for the 28 day board and train program. The main focus was leash behavior, fear of loud noises, and socialization/reactivity (especially with household guests). Wil did an AMAZING job creating a great foundation for Naiyo and gave us tools to continue to build on. Wil gave us daily updates about Naiyo. Wil helped him develop good leash behavior, start to work around loud noises, and a great start to being more comfortable around strangers/other dogs. Wil has continued to check in to make sure Naiyo is settling in and continuing to grow.
