Jonathan has helped my dog and I in such an impactful manner! We always come out renewed, excited and improved. Last time we worked with him a light bulb went off with my dog and now we are training very well as a team and communication is improved! On top of this, Jonathan is a humble teacher who thinks outside the box and picks up something that dramatically changes the direction of your training. It is sometimes subtle , but it is vital for progression and I highly recommend him! His accomplishments speak for themselves and additionally, he is a nice, down to earth guy who explains the training with no judgement! He always gives me the break through that invigorates and improves the direction of our training and relationship with my dog. Great private classes and also zoom training! All exceptional! Five stars is not enough to communicate the quality of education at Dogma Academy. I chose to drive across the country as the first “full-time” (three-month Dog Trainer immersion program) student of Jonathan Katz’s new school for dog trainers. I had been working as a professional dog trainer, at that time, for about 3.5 years, and was very successful. My clients were happy, my dogs and behavior outputs were consistent: but I felt I had plateaued and needed to expand my growth and potential to help my community. Choosing Dogma for that education was the best decision I could have made. Dogma Academy is not a dog training school—it’s a character development school. The lectures given are diverse, unique, modern, and easy to comprehend, with a focus on an enriching and hands-on individualized instruction approach. The staff involved in teaching and supporting the students are phenomenal individuals: kind, patient, understanding, and with a clear and true desire to help you succeed. I can be a tricky student—an intense perfectionist, an: “I’ll believe it when I see it” personality type, an: “explain it to me in four different ways so I know you know what you’re teaching” attitude. I’m picky with the advice I trust when I am holding the weight of my clients’ futures behind it. Never once did Jonathan exhibit frustration or impatience with me. He instead proved himself a trustworthy and knowledgeable instructor through demonstration of honest skill and experience. And I had many chances to witness that, living in the dorms on campus and spending every day in class with him! I would recommend Dogma Academy for any skill level, from a new dog owner who wants to expand their life with just their own dog, to an experienced professional already established in the field. With a myriad of programs available from individual courses to multi-month experiences, there is a piece of Dogma for everyone.
