At DogJoy, our care model is intentionally structured around safety, transparency, and individualized care—especially for young, high-energy, or training-focused dogs who may not be appropriate for group play. This is exactly why we offer Hotel Boarding as a quieter, more controlled option, rather than forcing dogs into environments that may not be safe or suitable for them. All dogs in our care receive clean, secure housing, regular monitoring, and staff interaction as part of their base stay. Optional add-ons exist so owners can choose the types of enrichment, exercise, and one-on-one time that best fit their dog’s needs, temperament, and comfort level—rather than bundling services that may be unsafe, unwanted, or unnecessary for certain dogs. Our team is trained to advocate for dogs, and when we see a pup who could benefit from additional structured activity, we reach out to the owner first. In this case, our staff attempted to contact you to discuss optional enrichment that we felt could better meet your dog’s energy needs, but we did not receive a response. We never assume or charge for services without owner approval—communication and consent always come first. Regarding seasonal pricing: our holiday rate is clearly posted and helps us maintain appropriate staffing levels during our busiest and most demanding times of year, ensuring consistent, attentive care for every dog. We understand that different boarding styles work for different families, and we respect your decision to choose what feels best for you and your dog. For those seeking experienced staff, structured care, and safety-first individualized boarding—especially for dogs that may not fit a traditional daycare model—we’re proud of the care we provide and the standards we uphold. For clarity, any enrichment or additional activities are always owner-approved and never required for a dog to receive attentive, responsible care.
