Dogboy NYC

Super happy with Jenny Lee, our trainer for the Basic Manners class with Dogboy NYC. She was very patient and generous with her knowledge. She does everything possible to make class enjoyable for both the human and puppy. The facility itself is quite small - it is NYC after all and located in a boarding facility. It is clean and properly maintained but there is not a lot of room when class is full. Jenny gave us a success castle, which is an exercise pen covered by blankets, to minimize distractions around us. This was helpful since my pup has a hard time focusing because the world around him is just so exciting! So he could still hear and smell everyone around him, but gave him an opportunity to focus on the lessons. The space will have its own distractions too, as some of the dogs boarded will bark from time to time as class goes on. Something to keep in mind in case your pup is reactive or sound sensitive. Jenny will do everything possible to make sure that your are set up for success. It was really great working with her.

Working with Jenny at Dogboy has been a total game-changer for our two husky mixes. Anyone with huskies knows how notoriously stubborn and dramatic they can be, but Jenny handled them with such expertise! We specifically needed help with leash behavior and prey drive desensitization. Within just a few months, we’ve seen a massive shift in how they focus on us rather than every squirrel in Brooklyn. Jenny gave us the tools to feel confident and in control during our walks. She has been such a help for us and I can't recommend her enough as a trainer!

We worked with Jenny for our puppy, Zane. She was amazing! We learned so many useful commands including (place, touch, stay, etc.) She also shared so many great product recommendations like treats, harnesses, leashes, etc that we still use today. We plan to continue working with Jenny as needed over Zane’s first 18 months of life, but six months in and we’re so grateful for the impact she has had!
