Robert and Dogboy were enthusiastically recommended to us by multiple people when we were adopting our first puppy (Millie) at the beginning of the year, and we’ve been so happy with our one-on-one sessions over the last few months. It’s been great to be able to tailor each session to what’s been going on with Millie lately – Robert always has very practical and hands-on guidance. And we really appreciate the additional materials and recommendations that Robert sends after each session to help reinforce and expand on the things we practiced. Plus, he’s introduced us to some things that never would have been on our radar but which are now Millie’s absolute favorites (like “find it”/scent work)! And the rest of the Dogboy team is great as well – we especially appreciated Kim who made all the scheduling (including snagging a few earlier waitlist spots) super easy.

We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Dogboy, and especially with our incredible trainer, Jenny. From the very first session, it was clear that we were in expert hands. Jenny’s deep knowledge, patience, and incredibly supportive approach made what initially felt like an overwhelming process into something empowering, manageable, and even fun. Jenny brought an impressive level of structure to each of our sessions. Rather than just giving us vague advice or general tips, she created a clear training roadmap tailored to our dog’s needs and our lifestyle. She guided us through essential foundational skills, including crate training, potty training, loose leash walking, and—most importantly for us—how to address separation anxiety and isolation distress. These were the areas we had struggled with most, and Jenny provided not just reassurance, but concrete, actionable strategies that we could implement right away. One of Jenny’s greatest strengths is her action-oriented teaching style. She didn’t just tell us what to do—she showed us. Every technique was demonstrated first with clarity and care. Watching her work with our dog gave us confidence that it was possible, and that we could do it too. After each demonstration, she coached us through practicing the exercise ourselves, giving thoughtful feedback and encouragement every step of the way. Her ability to break down complex behaviors into simple, repeatable steps was truly remarkable. Another standout aspect of working with Jenny was her ability to answer questions—all of them! No matter how small or seemingly silly, Jenny treated every question with respect and answered with clarity and insight. She never rushed us, and she made sure we understood the why behind each technique, which helped us stay consistent and motivated outside of our training sessions. Her communication style is warm, professional, and incredibly effective. Thanks to Jenny’s guidance, we’ve seen real, meaningful progress in our dog’s behavior—and in our own confidence as pet parents. Crate training is no longer a battle, our walks are more peaceful and enjoyable, and we’ve seen a dramatic reduction in separation anxiety behaviors. We feel equipped to continue reinforcing everything we’ve learned, and we know we have a solid foundation to build on. If you’re considering working with Dogboy, do it—and if you can, ask for Jenny.
