Dogability Dog Training

I took my dog Sadie to Juan several months ago and was amazed at the results but was hesitant to write a review before I wasn't sure about maintaining the training and how much it would stick. Now several months later I'm happy to say Sadie and I are so pleased! We're able to walk around our neighborhood off-leash, play fetch in open places, and go running together. She even did really well when with my family (who didn't participate in her training) for a month while I had to travel. Thank you so much Juan and Rafael - Sadie misses you!

Exceeded all of my expectations. Juan and his team were professional, educational, and passionate about this training. My five year old golden doodle went from an aggressive, anti social barker to a calm, well behaved pup. Walks and play time are so much more enjoyable for both of us and I am so glad I sent her to this training program. Passerby’s often comment on her calm demeanor and attentiveness to my commands. I never thought that this dog would be able to walk calmly on a leash. We now have our daily walks with the lead hanging loosely over my shoulder and the dog obedient at my side completely unphased by passing dogs and other distractions. I highly recommend this program!

This is the best training I have ever had. Juan is amazing. He trained my 5 month old labrador retriever and it has changed our lives. We just returned from a trip to the outer banks where I was able to let her run off leash on trails and the beach. This was a priority for me in terms of safety and freedom. I have used other trainers in the past and have never had this much success. It takes commitment but so worth it. I highly recommend Juan. He is the best.

Review UPDATE: Totally worth it. Our 8 month old Belgian Malinois "Goose" has been transformed once again. The Advanced Obedience Off-Leash training that Juan Galvis has provided to us and our dog is invaluable. The level of safety and freedom we have with our dog now is astounding. We have always loved our dog but now we enjoy him. There is no drama anymore, only joy. The obedience the dogs learn is way beyond the basics. A favorite que we learned is "That's it." We will be at the park successfully playing fetch and when it is time to go, we say "That's it," throw the ball to the side, and the dog stays still and patient waiting for his leash to be put back on. The leash walking and off-leash obedience are the pillars of this program. You have to see it to believe it. No more leash pulling miserable stressful walks. Walking with a leash (or without) is enjoyable and peaceful. They learn sit, stay, down, place, recall, etc. but the training goes beyond obedience; The dogs become more responsive and aware of their handler. The relationship is deepened. The program does require you (the handler) to be present and ready to put forth the effort to reinforce and maintain this amazing training. Your efforts will be rewarded. My husband and I often say to each other when we are walking him now, "Best idea ever." If you are considering this training facility and the Advanced Obedience Program, do not hesitate. Not for one second. It is an investment that takes your relationship with your dog to a level that is hard to imagine. We are thankful everyday that we made that investment and are looking forward to enjoying the benefits for years to come. Thank you Juan and all your amazing staff! We are eternally grateful. Before attending the two week puppy course, "Goose" was nipping at our legs so much I had to wear industrial strength cargo pants around him. We were unsure how to go about training him and wanted him started off right. We were amazed after attending the handler training portion of the class how he had been transformed. He is a different dog. Our 11 week old puppy is attentive, can "sit" and "down," come when he is called, and nips no more. I can wear shorts again! He has increased potty reliability. When my husband and I walk around the yard or the ball field, he stays with us off a leash. He goes willingly into his crate when necessary, rests calmly without whimpering, and stays at the door before we open it to let him out. Gene also taught him how to go and remain calmly on his "place." The "place" allows us to eat in peace or enjoy our visitors. A week after coming home he is able to remain on his "place" for the duration of dinner. Amazing. I can't say enough good things about this facility and the competency of the trainers. We will definitely return for more advanced training when Goose gets a little bigger. Thank you Gene, Jen, and the staff at Dogability!
