We boarded our two dogs here this past week while we went away. It was my first time ever boarding them! Kirk and Suzy truly take pride in their work. The facility is clean and there is so much space! They do what’s best for your animals when it comes to making them comfortable. Our dogs are better together so they got to stay together! This was my request. They smelled amazing when they came home and they’ve been napping since we picked them up! Which shows the time they take to spend with the pups who are staying with him. We will be back! 10/10 recommend!!

David and I have the utmost respect for the quality training Enzo received from Kirk! Enzo was a typical 6-months old lab running full tilt when he went to Dog Years for hunt test training and Kirk definitely had the patience of Job with him. Kirk’s enthusiasm and knowledge were apparent from the beginning. He connected with Enzo to gain his trust and have him respond to his training, always in a soft but firm and non-aggressive manner. It is evident that Kirk has a solid work ethic and is committed to excellence. His passion and professional training run a close second to the love he showed for Enzo. Kirk is a true dog whisperer. We were having trouble trying to teach our 9 month old German Shepherd mix basic on leash commands of heel, how not to pull on the leash, stay and come. We had used Dog Years to Board our dog a couple of times before and were very impressed with the facility and how well the dogs were cared for. So, the last time that we boarded our dog we decided to include Kirks dog training program and the outcome was better than expected as he had learned the above needed commands. Five months later he still happily obeys the commands because he understands what we are asking him to do.

Training and boarding with Kirk at Dog Years has always been a positive experience for me and my dogs. A few years back our dog Rennie did a board and train with Kirk and we were very happy with the results. During his stay we were given updates on his progress, were allowed to come and visit him, and were able to contact Kirk with any questions or concerns. When he finally completed his training and came to pick him up Kirk took the time to show us what he learned, answered all our questions, gave us instructions on how to work with him, and we left with a DVD of Rennie and what he learned while training with Kirk at Dog Years. At no time did we ever worry about him-the Dog Years facility is top notch and Kirk is very professional. It was a no brainer deciding to contact Kirk at Dog Years when we needed to board our 2 GSP’s for an extended period of time this summer. Even though Kirk relocated his Dog Years Training and Boarding facility 2 hours from where we lived, we knew we had to have our dogs stay there. We contacted Kirk and he was happy to work with us to arrange a convenient drop off and pick up for our dogs-which were outside of the normal times. Again, the new facility was well put together and maintained (both inside and outside) as I was able to take a good look around. Kirk answered all the questions I had about how the dogs would be boarded, fed, exercised, and taken care of during their stay (for over 2 weeks). Dog Years is trustworthy and thorough, and anyone considering using them should feel completely comfortable leaving their dogs to be trained or boarded. During our dogs stay Kirk and Dog years: -Allowed our dogs to remain together in the same run for their stay. Also said if that became an issue he would put them each in their own run. This was great from my two GSP’s-they did great together. -Had outside exercise and play in a fully fenced area, and only had interaction with one another not any other dogs. -Kept us up to date on our dog’s progress (calls, texts, and PHOTOS/VIDEO’s) -Made it easy to contact them directly about questions or concerns regarding our dogs (very understanding and patient with me as I am a bit of a worrier when my dogs are staying somewhere) . -Informed us of any issues (our dogs had some problems with the food I provided, and they were able to recommend and provide another high-quality food and solve the issue). -Provided grooming services (for an extra fee-but well worth every penny) for the dogs before being picked up. The bottom line is I would absolutely board and train my dogs with Kirk and Dog Years again. Dog Years is professional, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and I felt comfortable and safe leaving my dogs there to be cared for while we were out of town. Kirk even sent a follow up, handwritten note asking how our dogs were doing and thanking us for having our dogs boarded at the facility. Now that is outstanding service!
