Maybe you are a new dog owner and just want to make sure you are on the right path. Our team takes a personalized approach to training, making your goals our goals. Utilizing a balanced training style, we strive to keep learning fun for dogs and accomplish your training goals in a timely manner.
This program is ideal for clients wanting an accelerated training program and/or who are not able to commit to a consistent training schedule. Your dog stays with us for their training where we will accomplish a lot of training in a short period of time.
Group classes are a good opportunity to desensitize your dog to situations that distract them, including situations that provoke reactive behavior. All owners are encouraged to participate in group training once they have an obedience foundation.
This is our most popular program and it is a good option if you would like to be involved in the training process. You will meet with your personal trainer once per week for private lessons, to focus on obedience basics and behavior modification training.

I rescued my dog Lucky back in December of last year. I quickly discovered Lucky was a reactive dog and became aggressive around other dogs, and some people. I worried about what this behavior meant for his future. Taking him outside to potty meant making sure the coast was clear of any other people or dogs so he wouldn’t lunge at them and try to pull away from me. Walks were out of the question. I knew I needed someone to help correct this behavior. Steve was referred to me by another trainer who didn’t work with dogs with aggressive tendencies. From day one Steve set us up for success. He asked what my goals were for training and I told him I just want to be able to take Lucky on a walk without being fearful he’d hurt someone or another dog. We worked through several sessions and each one I watched my dog make huge strides in his behavior and discipline. By our last class, we were able to walk around the perimeter of a dog park with little to no reaction from Lucky. We even got to a point where we could work off leash and I felt confident that Lucky would come to me when called. Steve taught me life long skills that I can utilize daily and continue to train Lucky from home and get him more used to being around other dogs and out in public. Steve didn’t just help build Lucky’s confidence, but my confidence as a dog owner too. I’ve learned so much in a short period of time and you can’t put a price on that. I am so pleased with the results of training with Steve and can’t wait to continue working with him on group classes to help Lucky gain more exposure with other dogs. This training works if you put in the dedication and commitment to what Steve teaches you. And my Lucky boy is proof! Before training, I had low expectations that there was any hope for my pup and today we take peaceful walks without any anxiety. Our sweet happy dog is a menace to other dogs. She injured another family dog severely and attacked a strange dog after slipping her harnass. All with no provocation. Steve was our final resort. The difference was apparent immediately. Steve gets dogs and knew just what training ours needed. She will probably never like other dogs, but now we know how to handle her, and she is motivated to behave in ways that earn our praise. The difference has been like night and day. We can’t wait to try group lessons and continue her learning and improvement.
Highly recommend Steve and his individual lessons. They helped us give our 7 month old puppy a very good base of skills. More importantly, he helped US feel comfortable in training her at home. His knowledge of dogs is extensive and you can tell he has a passion for them! His approach is practical and techniques effective. It was great to get Bella out and about and train her in the “real world.”
We had a great experience with Steve and Dog Training Personalized. We chose a 6 session 1:1 training and Steve helped us succeed in multiple settings—training at his business and in public parks and shopping centers. He had handouts with techniques for various types of behaviors that were helpful for working on our own between sessions. Steve was easy to contact and flexible with scheduling. We plan to also participate in some group sessions in the future.
