Dog Training Elite West Houston Facility

I am writing this to warn other pet parents and especially my fellow veterans. I came to Dog Training Elite desperately looking for help to manage my severe PTSD so I could just have a normal life. A military grant helped, but I still paid over $1,000 out of my own pocket for this special psychiatric training for my Husky, Sumi. This company is horrible and going there was a terrible mistake. There was a guy there who said he was a military dog trainer. He literally got on top of her on her throat and kept shouting that she needed to understand he is the alpha. I was standing there crying and not understanding how this was supposed to help us. As someone who was just looking for peace and healing, watching my dog get treated like that completely broke me. This all happened years ago and I never made a review before because of how badly it hurt. But I am still deeply traumatized by what happened. I look at my dog and see that she is still stuck in that fear. She went there for day training and nothing positive changed. Please never ever trust this company with your loved dogs or your own recovery. 0 stars if I could.

I got Mocha (a pitbull mix) from a shelter as a puppy, and she was very playful, but at the same time did not trust people. I was having bad anxiety at the same time - it got worse bc some neighbors complained that my dog was aggressive, when she was just a playful pitbull puppy. (I guess people think pitbulls are aggressive) I reached out to Dog Training Elite and met Alex S, who later became Mocha’s trainer. Mocha trusted Alex since day 1, and she did a phenomenal job. I flew with Mocha to Mexico - she went through TSA by herself with no leash, the plane was packed and she did great. She behaved properly through immigration and customs and did great on the way back too. Thank you Alex for all you’ve done for Mocha! I highly recommend DTE West Houston!

I wanted a company that would help me train our newly adopted dog, Groot, to be a service dog for my handicapped son. Their training philosophy is rooted in canine behavioral science, positive reinforcement , corrective actions, building confidences of both dog and the handler, consistency and clear communication, which helped Groot and I build an unbreakable bond. Here are some key highlights of our experience: Expert Instruction: They didn’t just trained Groot they also trained me (the handler) and soon my son to understand canine behavior. Customized Approach: Jan and Alex tailored every session to my specific needs and Groot’s personality. With this customization it allowed Groot to learn how to be less and less reactive. Professionalism: Jan, both Alex’s and the whole team are patient, knowledgeable, and always provide helpful follow-up notes after sessions. Thanks to their guidance, Groot is now growing into a stellar working dog. Five stars plus!!!!
