Dog Leaders

As I was preparing for shoulder surgery and wondering what I would do with my dogs I stumbled across dog leaders. After talking with Charles in length about his training style and what he offered I felt like it was a good fit. He took my dogs in during the crucial part of my healing process and worked with them daily. My pups are great, but they were super excited and didn’t have many manners. Even in a sling and only able to use one arm, their first few walks were great!! They listened to me, very minimal pulling that was easily correct (most times with a verbal correction), and they were able to ignore distractions. After going through 5 different dog trainers and wasting thousands of dollars, we found Dog Leaders run by Charles. We entrusted him with our rescue dog, Blue, knowing that this was Blue’s last chance. If we could not rid him of his aggressive behavior and tendencies, we would not be able to keep him. Charles took over Blue’s complete training for several weeks. He communicated with us every day and sent progress reports and photos. Charles called frequently to share his thoughts on Blue and offer suggestions on training techniques. When we picked Blue up we were amazed! He was a changed dog. Then Charles spent considerable time training US, the owners, helping us better understand how to act and react with our dog. Blue owes Charles his life, and we owe Charles our hearts for helping us.

We took Tucker, our 9 month old golden to Charles and wow, what a difference! I couldn’t even walk Tucker because he would pull me around the whole time and jerk my arm. When we picked Tucker up, we were completely shocked! Now I can walk him so easily and he stays right at my side. He used to act crazy when people would walk by and try to get over to them. Now, he just calmly walks by and waits for them to pass. On our walk this morning, a lady actually said, “Wow, what a well behaved dog!” We never would have heard that before training!! There’s so many ways Tucker has improved. Charles actually showed us how to continue working with Tucker and he’s getting better everyday! Would 100% recommend Charles!

Charles did an amazing job with my four year old, 120 pound German Shepherd! I was never able to walk him without being pulled the entire time. After being with Charles for 4 weeks, I just took my dog for the most enjoyable walk ever. He walked right by my side, stopped, heeled, turned around, sat and stayed beautifully! Charles is patient, knowledgable and experienced. He does not use shock collars to train, which is very important to me. Thanks so much, Charles! Now I can enjoy my dog so much more!
