This rating is very unfair. At Dog Guard we do our best to help anyone with a problem. We are pet owners ourselves and could never bear the thought of a dog lost or injured due to a faulty system.. In this case the product and dealer that installed this system is out of business. No matter that this was not our system we endeavored to help the homeowner. Our technician spent time using a tone generator following the underground cable throughout the yard and the homeowner walked it with him.. Finding no breaks he diagnosed the system as not working properly. The technician was told the batteries were recently replaced and so suggested either the collar or box was not working. The homeowner called our office while the technician was present and asked for a price on new equipment. We do not sell this brand and when asked what our equipment cost the homeowner was given a price to trade up for $500 and in addition we would wave 1/2 of the service fee. To the homeowner this seemed expensive so it was suggested that she go on Amazon and try to find replacements for less money. When a technician is dispatched, drives 1/2hr @ way (1 hour in travel time,) plus spends another 45 minutes diagnosing a problem, there is a cost. In this case $125.00. We are happy to share our pricing (which is pre-printed on every invoice) with anyone who asks.
