We've been coming to classes for a few months now, and we love it. We are 1st time dog owners, and Joe and his crew are very helpful. He has offered such great advice. (Edit to add) As we've advanced through the levels, I've noticed a giant leap in our dog's behavior. She's always been obedient, but her focus has increased. For example, when we get together with friends and their dogs, our dog listens and obeys right away. During very exciting play times when I want to bring the energy level down, I can call her to me and tell her down and she'll stay until I release her... while other dogs are running around and barking and having a good time she still listens. Our walk has improved drastically. She was never a big puller but always always always had to be in front. This would require mostly constant corrections (dozens during a 2 mile walk). She walks by my side now very consistently and only ever pulls when nature calls. When greeting people, she would always be licking with extreme excitement. Her excitement level is still very high when greeting, but the licking has decreased massively and she outwardly remains calm.
