FirstBarkTim is so patient and kind with us and our pup! We adopted a 1 year old rescue and he had a lot of anxiety. Tim helped us with ways to keep him calm and less reactive. Our dog has already made so much progress in the 2 months we have had him and is able to relax in our home, meet new people and dogs and we can even take him to shops and restaurants with ease. We are so grateful for Tim!

We started training with Timothy in late October. His technique and guidance continues to evolve how we parent the pups - they’re walking great on leash, are well socialized with other humans and dogs, great name recall and are good puppies - they sleep up to 8am and no wining at night - ever! On our 4th session we’re learning good cafe manners. To any new dog owners, I highly recommend Timothy. You and your pups will be so much happier! 😊

I booked a session with Timothy because my dog and I have made a lot of progress with leash pulling and reactivity/hyperarousal around other dogs, but I felt like I was plateauing and wasn't sure what to do next. Very quickly Timothy was able to let me know what I was unintentionally reinforcing and give me clear guidelines for how to better communicate with my dog and help him "learn what the game is" so he knew what he was supposed to do. Just a single session was a big mentality shift for me, as I move from constant management and predicting to avoid behaviors, to now letting my dog flex the muscle of making the choice for himself, knowing that sometimes he will "fail" (within a margin of safety), and that's ok. I'm SO glad I worked with Dog Basics PDX. Will definitely book sessions in the future and I HIGHLY recommend working with Timothy as a behaviorist.

After two sessions we took the advice/tips and got to work, we have a totally different dog! It took 3 months of work and getting our pup on a medication but just like Timothy said, it will pay off. Now our pup will love and cuddle with other family members and I am no longer scared to leave him home when others are there. Just such a life saver.

We weren’t sure how it would go meeting in a dog park setting that she had never been in before, but Timothy was able to teach us how to handle her stress. Just after one session we are able to have successful walks with out so much reactivity using the tools he taught us. Would highly suggest!
