Dog 2 Dog Training

Stay away! Worst training experience ever. My boyfriend and I attended their free social immersion course. My first impression was negative. When we first arrived Scott was sitting next to a black dog, I'm assuming the dog was looking at mine, and to "correct" the behavior Scott back slapped the dog twice with his big heavy hands. Scott then got up to stand in front of the dog and proceeded to slap him in the face multiple times. I have NEVER seen a trainer hit a dog EVER. While I was filling out some papers my boyfriend walked away to give the dogs more space since my pup is only 8 months old he gets really excited around other dogs. While I was distracted with the documents Scott walks up to my boyfriend and puts a martingale collar on my dog WITHOUT EVER asking me. He then took over and proceeded to pull my dog and swing him around from his neck. During the class Scott took over another dog and was forcefully pulling this dog around and forced a dog in to the water, he calls it "water boarding". After coming home I can see my dog was stressed from the experience that he was distant from me and my boyfriend for a few hours. From the beginning to the end Scott tries to sell himself saying he worked with bomb dogs and has had great results with dogs and he has to say that because he has no actual certification as a dog trainer. They call themselves "premium trainers" but what does that even mean? They have had no formal training or certification to be a dog trainer. The only reason they can do this is because there is no regulation on dog trainers so anyone today can call themselves a dog trainer. Their way of handling with dogs is unprofessional, traumatic to the dogs, does not directly address a dog's behavior, and is outright negative reinforcement.

We're going dramatic and awesome changes with our standard poodle in **just weeks** due to training and classes with Dog 2 Dog. I even slightly understand the psychology of dogs now and we continually have awesome direction and instruction and conversations on not just the what, but why! You're looking here at two dogs getting along and one being a horribly-behaved and completely neurotic puppy who is. So. Much. Better. Due to these guys and their classes, programs, and approach. A++++. Cannot recommend enough.

I did puppy training with Scott and Darcy, and then I continued with intense training which included 2 hours on Thurs eve and 2 hours on Saturday. This training changed my life with my Italian Greyhound, Alexander. After that intensive training I took him to NYC for two weeks, and we went everywhere. The training enabled that kind of freedom. He is good on a long plane ride, and he just sits on my lap. I took him to any restaurant, and he just sat on the floor or on a bench with my scarf over him! I then went to NYC last year for 6 months, and I was able to do that because of the training that I learned from Scott and Darcy, and of course, practicing it with Alexander. When I was in NY for 6 months, we literally went everywhere. I took him to any restaurant, and people would say as I was leaving that they didn’t even know that a dog was there...that is the comment that I wanted! That said everything! Alexander even went to The Hayden Planetarium in New York City with my friend while I was having a massage. Needless to say, he got much attention there, and he was obedient. He came back to the apartment in a New York City Pedicab and got much attention in that as well! I have been able to live a life I never imagined, but always wanted, due to my training with Dog2Dog. When I have needed a “refresher”, Scott and Darcy have willingly helped. The Saturday group classes are so valuable in the training as well. I would, in the future, do the exact same training with Dog2Dog with a new dog. It was gratifying beyond my wildest dreams! Susan Loveridge

Loved our dog training classes at Dog 2 Dog. The instructors know their stuff and let me bring several children to our classes so they could learn first hand as well. We learned so much in our classes, but what I've appreciated the most is communication the instructors have had with us. During the course I could send a text or Marco polo with questions I had about a command and the response was always timely and helpful. Even a year after completing the course I texted a question and got the help I was looking for!
