Diamond Dogs Training

I cannot say enough good things about Diamond Dogs and Lindsay! My pup started training with Lindsay when she was about 10 weeks old, and the progress she has made is incredible. While she’s not perfect (what dog is?), her behavior has improved so much thanks to their guidance. Not only is Lindsay an amazing trainer, but she’s also the only person I trust to board my dog. My pup absolutely loves her, and I always have peace of mind knowing she is in great hands. We rescued Pepper when she was 7 months old and completely untrained. We got the Diamond Dog 12-session private basic training package with Lindsay, and she started coming to our house once a week to train both Pepper and us using positive reinforcement techniques. She always stresses that she’s training the trainer—making sure we understand how to communicate with Pepper effectively. Every week, we had homework to reinforce what we learned and to help us recognize potential issues if Pepper wasn’t responding as expected. Maybe we pushed too far too quickly and needed to lower the criteria—Lindsay taught us how to assess and adjust our approach to set Pepper up for success. Three months after adopting Pepper, we enrolled her in Lindsay’s three-week board and train program, which gave her training a great jumpstart. Lindsay continually reinforces that training is an ongoing process for owners, but with consistent work, Pepper now knows all the basics: sit, down, go to bed, sit pretty, shake, find it, and even play dead (or as I like to call it, "go to sleep"). We now use the daily care visit option, where Lindsay comes to our house once a week while we’re at work to take Pepper out and work with her for an hour, giving her valuable mental stimulation. Lindsay sends us videos of the sessions so we can see what she’s working on and then try it ourselves. With the basics down, Lindsay has moved on to helping us teach Pepper fun things like rollover, "tidy up" (putting away her toys), distinguishing between different toys, and tracking scents. Lindsay also boards Pepper when we go on vacation, but it’s not just boarding—it’s a productive stay where Pepper continues to practice and maintain her training and manners. Lindsay is always willing to answer questions, provide training advice, and support us whenever we need it. You can truly see her passion for dogs and positive reinforcement training.
