I highly recommend Diamond Canine for your dog's training! I do a lot of research when it comes to anything with our family, and this included our new puppy. My research led me to Joe at Diamond Canine. We did try a different dog training place prior, but W wasn't listening and I knew he needed something more. Upon our first assessment last Fall with Joe, in less than 10 minutes he had our puppy by his side (no lunging, no barking, just listening to him). I was amazed how quickly W calmed down. When you read reviews that Joe is a dog whisperer, he understands their psychology and knows what they need. He evaluates every dog that comes in and it isn't a one size fits all approach. Each dog is different and requires a different approach. We've had sessions at our house (including our whole family), at local stores (to know how to handle dogs in public), and attending their group classes (where you can see that you are not the only one struggling with whatever you are going through, but rather get more help to work through things), and through it all we've continued to learn about our W's needs. His wife Erin handled all of our scheduling needs as well as texts when I had questions or frustrations with our dog. She's been a blessing helping me through all of this and gives great guidance as to what is needed. Most recently we attended one of their outdoor dog classes and, since this was a new experience for us, we learned a lot from being in a high distraction park and how our dog will respond. Joe gave us great guidance in how to work through some of these distractions, and we applied it at home later that night with 100% success! We're new to having a dog and I knew it would be a lot of work, but save yourself the time and book an assessment with Joe and his team! I can’t recommend Victor enough. I’ve been working with him for about three years now with my German Shepherd, starting before he transitioned over to Diamond Canine. Watching him grow since then—especially under Joe’s guidance—has been really impressive. You can tell he’s constantly sharpening his skills and taking his training to another level. We’ve worked through everything from basic obedience to more advanced training, and the progress in my dog has been huge. Victor is patient, consistent, and really understands how to read dogs and meet them where they’re at. My Shepherd is more confident, focused, and reliable because of him. One thing I’ve always respected is his honesty. When I was considering getting into sport protection, he actually advised against it because of the potential for creating erratic behavior. Instead, he encouraged me to look into personal protection as a more balanced and fulfilling outlet for my dog—and he was absolutely right. I’ve also watched Victor work with reactive dogs, and it’s seriously impressive. Dogs that are easily triggered or difficult to handle—he approaches them with a calm, controlled energy and real skill. He even helped my own Shepherd through a bout of reactivity, and the improvement was noticeable and lasting.
